By the way, I downloaded the GC trailer, and even though I didn't watch it, I did hear short tidbits without looking at the screen (scary weird laughs and lots of gunfire). Except when it was a bit calm, I decided to take a quick look for about a second to see what the hell happened, then I saw something huge and weird-shaped going away and thought "OMGWTF!" and I knew I had done the right thing by not watching that trailer.

Hideo Kojima reveals four new enemies, each with their own motives and manias.

During Games Convention 2007 last week, Hideo Kojima, head of Kojima Productions, revealed the first details on the Beauties and Beasts theme that will run throughout Metal Gear Solid 4.

Interesting, very interesting. I know Kojima said that he wanted psychological elements to play a big role in this game. Originally I think it was slated for use in the soldiers and that instead of the generic ! or ?, there would be many more feelings for the AI. This must be how he has intended to implement it.

Can't wait for this game to hit NA shores.

In the mind-blowing Metal Gear Solid 4 movie recently shown at the Leipzig Game Convention, we're treated to our first sighting of the Beauty in the Beast unit. These armoured, and extremely angry, metal monsters are the main antagonists in MGS4 and will no doubt be trying to stop Snake from reaching his objective at every given moment.

Last month we revealed that model and actress Yumi Kikuchi would be using her talents to provide the motion capture for one of these beasts. We're guessing Kikuchi will be Laughing Octopus, based on nothing more than the fact that she’s smiling and if you really squint you could almost mistake her lovely flowing locks for tentacles.

Pictures of Scarlett Chorvat, Mieko Rye and Lyndall Jarvis - the three other lovely ladies that producer Hideo Kojima recruited to perform motion-capture duties for these metal monstrosities -can found on the next three pages.

Take a look at that massive jacket Mieko’s wearing, now look at the wing span of Raging Raven, coincidence? We think not. She also looks tougher than the other three models which, we think, suggests that Laughing Raven will be one of the more challenging beasts Snake will come up against.

- Ryan looked on message boards about things people want to see fixed after the GC trailer. 2 of the things brought up are animation and the FP view.

The FP view was pretty weaksauce, they should fix it up (e.g. take some hints from KZ lol). Animation was ok, seemed really unfinished, especially those guys in the LGC gameplay that fell over the railings when Snake shot them while he was on his back, that ***t looked retarded lol. Probably had lots of placeholder stuff still.

According to game forum PS3Forums, the newest edition of UK lad mag Nuts [NSFW] has an interview with Batman Begins actor Christian Bale who apparently says he's in the running to play Solid Snake in the 2009 movie Metal Gear Solid. Not sure how valid this info i, because PS3Forums didn't have a link, and I can't find anything over than "Assess My Breasts" on the Nuts site. Which were spectacular. There's no mention of an interview with him, either. Still, Bale would be a good choice for Solid Snake as Kojima makes quirky games, and Bale's a quirky actor. And have you seen his facial hair? SOLID.

He'd be great. Maybe there's a few better but I'm not complaining. My roomate totally loves this guy so I guess I have a little more appreciation for him because of it.

I think something really important though is the voice, almost more so than looking exactly like Solid Snake. You need a really gruff guy with a similar build and appearance, and the build is there and to make someone look 'veteran' in the way Snake is wouldn't be so hard, but the sound of his voice is equally if not more important I think.

I don't think Snake is nearly as intimidating or spectacular or awesome without the voice, and I think anyone who hasn't even seen Snake or knows of MGS would say the same thing if the two were placed together.

I have respect for the RE movies because they didn't bomb. I have respect for them because they took a game and made a successful movie duet thing (to soon be a trilogy of course).

And although the translation was not direct, it got there and did well. So it's really quite a breakthrough for videogame movies and I commend it for that at the very least.

I would prefer something to match the quality and style of the game and be a direct translation, but I'm not terribly angry because they've managed to use a game's namesake and characters and come up with a movie translation of it that worked at the very least on the box office number board.

Well I believe one of the main reasons I 'loved' the PS2 so much was because I got it with a great game that I really liked so the excitement from that kept me tied to the console.

And the reason I am not too into the Xbox is because I bought it with Halo1 and was really disappointed which kept me cold to the console.

First impression matters a lot to me when it comes to playing the console for the first time after I buy it.

Good call, I kind of was 'unimpressed' at first, because first I had Armored Core and GRAW2. Both which I don't have now. I'm so glad HS came soon after I got my PS3, otherwise I would've thought much less of my PS3 lol. At least for me, the combination of Heavenly Sword, Warhawk, Ratchet & Clank, and Uncharted is something I'm sure is going to impress me a lot! I can't wait til I have all 4 of those games in my possession :)

Metal Gear Solid 4 will include a small taste of the Metal Gear Online experience through an included "Starter Pack" mode, Hideo Kojima revealed at the Konami press conference today in Tokyo. A new trailer highlighted the game's sharp graphics, which nearly match the visual fidelity of its single-player counterpart. In addition, fun gameplay bits, such as the ability to roll down enemies in a barrel were shown. The trailer ended with a soldier launching himself helplessly into the air by using a massive cannon device (a Halo nod, perhaps?).

Lol! Great trailer! I didn't think it was spoilery in the slightest, but I did think it was mad quirky lol. It almost got that little element of RE4 now with a guns salesman, that's kind of cool. Definitely going to be a lot more action in this one.

I'm glad Naomi is more looking like her MGS1 profile pic. I was kind of annoyed she didn't look like so much like that in the other trailers. I hope her voice is similar as well.

dude that's kind of uncalled for, I'm not stingy with 'rep' points, which is honestly some seriously trivial shit anyway, and putting any more value on it than it just being a friendly nod to fellow forumers is really, really petty.
