Is anyone else a fan of the American version?

Season 3 started yesterday and the first episode was funny if a bit...gay. Micheal makes such an ass of himself at times that it gets kind of hard to watch for me. The episode kind of suprised me because I didn't really think there would be any changes in the office but I expect those to be fixed soon.

The original version is one of the most intelligent comedies of our time.
It's better than the American remakes.
The American version seems, to me, a little like a cross between the original and Arrested Development.
And not as good as either.
With that said, I do enjoy the American version.
It's easier to laugh at, but the akwardity is what puts the original beyond other comedies.

Comparing the two pilot episodes, with near identical scripts, I feel certain that the original version was handled with greater restraint and subtlety.
Also, the original version's Christmas Special completely OWNS the American version's.
I mean, they're two entirely different things, and therefore unfair to compare.
But still.

The English version is brilliant.
The American version comes on BBC 2 every now and again at about half past midnight when they've got nothing else to show. I've never seen an episode all the way through, but from what I have seen it's no where near as good as the English the version.

Ricky Gervais is probably the worlds best comedian. At least in my opinion.

I love the office. Im assuming im seeing the american version. I think its genius. i laugh my ass off every time. Especially since i watch "my name is earl" before that, which is no longer funny in the slightest

I watch the US Version, and I think it's pretty damn hilarious.
I missed the first episode of this season, but I'm gonna try and watch it this week.

I've watched a couple episodes of the English version and thought it was funny, but I am biased.

The first episode of the new season was pretty disappointing but the first two seasons were pretty good.

i loved that episode. gaydar FTW. that part where michael kisses that hispanic dude (i cant remember his name for the life of me. i keep thinking carlos but i cant seem to remember) was hilarious. I think the guy who plays michael is a genius. 40 year old virgin was one of the funniest movies ive ever seen.

I thought the episode was pretty funny but that part you're talking about with Oscar was just painful to watch. What I like though is that anytime Steve Carell goes too far playing Micheal then Dwight does something hilarious and saves it.

painful? i thought that was pure comedic genius. just watching his face during that whole part made me laugh my ass off.

It was for me man, just realizing what was going to happen and then actually seeing it.
