September 22, 2006 - Accepted star Justin Long and Mission: Impossible III actress Maggie Q have signed to star opposite Bruce Willis in the forthcoming return of the Die Hard action movie franchise.
Today's Hollywood Reporter tips that Long will play a smart, younger guy who assists McClane. And Maggie Q will reportedly play a world-class hacker who is at odds with McClane.
The flick, which is currently known as Live Free or Die Hard, centers around McClane and a team of hackers who must stop an internet terrorist organization from crippling the U.S. infrastructure. The scheme's mastermind has prepared for every possible digital scenario, but doesn't count on McClane to bring it old school.
Live Free or Die Hard kicks off production this month under the direction of Underworld helmer Len Wiseman. Wiseman wrote the script for the 20th Century Fox production along with Mark Bomback. The film is tentatively set for release on June 29, 2007.
