if these are real i will be surprised, they seem kinda high. I bloody hope they are real though!
700Million transistors??? wow.

I'll believe it when I see it. 700m transistors, from around 300m is a huge leap. Comments from that article suggest 2 GPUs, 1 with 256bit and the other 128bit memory bandwidth. If that were the case then one IC being 400-500m transistors and the other being 200-300m transistors is plausible, but to me this sounds a little farfetched at this stage.

same here, maybe there are 2 GPU's at about 350mill each or something like that, just an interesting read.
Wow this looks to be pretty damn cool!

I"m not buying the 700m tranistor chip. On 80nm that would be huge . I'm thinking 500m or so .
However I hear it will ahve 2 busses . 1 128 bit and 1 256 bit . Good way to increase bandwidth without going full 512 bit bus and also increase the ram to 756 megs instead of a strait jump to 1 gig

I dont care about the transistors.. I only care about the features it can perform such as shader 4.0 and this like that..

oh don't worry, it does all that quite well indeed ;)

Yea i really dont think we need a gig of vid memory just yet ;-]

oh I don't know, if you game with 2 or more 24" 1920x1200 monitors you will!
i am still doubtful that they are real. that is a hell of a lot of transistors

Yea i know that i was saying that there is no need for a mass number of cards with 1gb of vid mem ;-]

i'd take one 4 in quad SLI.

The 7950GX2 has 1GB of RAM (2x 512MB) ;)
For a Dell or Chimeo 30" 2560x1600 resolution monitor, I believe you'd need a GX2 or SLI or Crossfire to really take advantage of such resolutions.

that is one hell of a stock cooler. but it may not be the reference board.
edit: looks like the rumors i posted were true! there are 12 memory chips there, fits the 512+256 spec.

Stock cooler looks about same size as 7900 gtx models.
Anyone else notice the dual 6 pin ps connection????
Some of the hardware and interface ideas seems rushed in order to beat ATI. Im definetely wanting to wait and see what ATI has coming, but none the less this is going to be a beast.

yeh it requires at least 300watts!!! insane really.
I don't believe ATI will be able to beat Nvidia just now but we will see.

You may want to look at some of the proposed ATI hardware going into the R600.
64 pipes
USA
Ext. fast mem
512 bus
This of course hasnt been confirmad, but ATI has been agressively targeting the more powerful stance on desktop cards in the last few releases.

That cooler remainds me the one that had the FX 5800 :( too bad that they didnt deliver (cuz of the hipe).. Well Yes_It's_Me correct me if I wrong but ATI has they graphic chip out first than Nvidia, I think they had mastered on making Unified Shaders.. BTW Wounding u didnt rep+ me :realmad

Here I found also a LiNK (http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/video/display/20060929090635.html) where they just comment on the pics.. and "Nvidia did not comment on the news-story." so the pics and the info must be true..

LOL
Im not sure if anything is going to run that res. well, in games anyways.

Rumor is that the cards wil release with a higher end card retail of 450 USD, thats less than what we are paying now.
Im hoping to be able to sell my 7900gtx for about 200-250 USD and upgrade for a couple hundred dollars.

I'll be buying a new comp in just over a year, looking forward to buying a quad SLI system that is for sure!

I think my next computer will be bought in May. By that time I suspect prices to drop on things like Quadcore CPUs, and G80 / R600 video cards. However there's no chance i'll be installing Vista anytime soon.

I think G80 will be the setup for me. However, as one dev stated recently, there still isn't a single game out there that maxes a 7800 GTX.

lol, same here too. I don't think i will ever actually run it solely, i just don't trust it anymore. It is like windows is always in alpha.

Well I take it he wasnt referring to the pc. There is a difference between pc and console gpu utilizations.
