Im thinking about getting a small truck/suv

I just want something with decent gas mileage that i can install satellite dishes out of next summer instead of using my parents' van which is the size of a bus.

im looking at a chevy tracker, just because my neighbors are selling theirs. anyone have any recommendations. i want to try to keep the price under $10,000.


Btw, i would get an FJ cruiser if i had a choice... those are nice, but out of my money range.

Well if that tracker is anything like the one we have (1999, 4-cylinder, 4-spd, 4WD (Damn, thats a lot of fours)) then i would go as far away from it as possible. Its a dog, the engine sucks, it gets like 20 miles to the gallon if your lucky, its ugly (imo but im sure a lot of people will agree with me on that one), the tranny is terrible, the interior is honestly laughably pathetic. Sure, the steering is pretty nice and direct, if a little light, but its not like the rest of the car can make any use of it. It leans like a motherfucker, it has no sense of composure at all. And did i mention its ugly? So that about sums it up. Personally, i would look at wagons.

Well if you want something with decent gas mileage then SUV would probably not be the right place to start. Stay away from AWD maybe. Small import trucks and Ford Rangers are decent on gas and wouls most likely suit you fine. If you go with a truck, is a topper something you are going to consider?
