People wonder why Cartoons suck right now...

...Tell you why. Today's society loves comedy, violence, and other non-"kiddy" shows.

Comedy: My wife and kids, According to Jim, Kings of Queens, and more.

Violence: CSI (NY/Miami, etc), Standoff, Smith, Justice, Prison Break, and so on.

Game Shows: Deal or No deal, Survior, and more.

Drama: The O.C., Las Vegas (fits in Violence, too), Smallville, One Tree Hill, and more.

These shows get a lot more hits than any cartoons out right now. Not even I'm interested in thems back to back 'toons.

The cartoons on Saturday morning aren't that bad, but the ones on Toonami just get on my nerves

I was watching Tv early this morning and was so excited, there was some dodgy tv kiddy show on, with 2 retarted hosts, but they played the old Merry Melody cartoons, Although they would show one shit show, E.g the sleepover club **Shudders** then show the cartoon! it was awesome!!!

Then why post in the thread in the first place? Its clear what the point of the thread: Cartoons aren't as good as they were ten years ago, because companies are seeing a surge of popularity in other genres. Violence being the center of it all.

The problem with cartoons these days is that they're made to only appeal to children. Looney Tunes, Yogi Bear, Flintones, etc. had topics that kids could enjoy as well as witty references that parents could find entertainment from.

The demographic of Saturday morning cartoons used to be anyone who was awake on Saturday morning to watch cartoons--now, it's more of a 6-13 years old.

...And every post that I've seen from F+ has been fantastic.

There are some pretty good new cartoons, and no I don't mean of the anime genre...I haven't watched that in years so I wouldn't know. But I am seeing them, not as many, but some decent ones none-the-less. And I don't really know which ones you meant are the "good ones" but thats general opinion...I preferred Johnny Bravo, Dexter's Lab, etc. to Tom and Jerry or Jetsons, but that's my opinion.

Deal or No Deal. Its only really become famous because of everyone watching it over here because of the one and only Noel Edmunds. Who as we all know, (well brits anyway) is just brilliant to laugh at.

I miss Recess on saturday mornings on ITV. however i now just miss saturday mornings full stop. Predictable funny is just crap and boring. Random funny is brilliant and really not mind numbingly boring.
