The most exciting day at work... EVER!
Alreet, Nathan here on Friday that turned into one of the best days to work on PSM3. Not only have we secured the most exciting reviews issue since the dawn of PS2 (we can't say much, but we've got at least three of the best games to hit the stores this year and a world exclusive of an absolute gem on PSP) but the good folk from Sony popped into the office with a fully working PS3! Don't believe us? Then check this out...

You can even see the reflection of Motorstorm in the shiny exterior. Good, eh? Finally Rich, Andy, Dave the workie and I got to grips with the lush PS3 for the first time. First impressions? The pads lighter than we anticipated and we were pleasantly surprised by the top-notch feel when controlling the vehicles with the pads motion rather than the sticks. We also got to grips with Resistance: Fall of Man too. The jury's still out on this one but it looks amazing; like proper next-gen. But it really drew in a crowd of curious gamers. Including some teary-eyed men from an Xbox magazine...
And the fun didn't stop there. We've also been rockin' out to a full list of tunes on the cracking Guitar Hero 2. The bass and lead guitar co-op mode works really well and the line-up of tracks will have fans salivating into their laps. Or something like that. We're hoping to have the full-review soon so keep it PSM3 for all the lowdown.
To cap this wonderful day off we're all about to hit the pub and bask in memories of a great Friday and the sun, which has come out to play. Everything's just beautiful. Before I break into song I'll wish you a fantastic weekend and we'll be back on Monday.

I don't think it's tongue and cheek, I just think they're waiting to finish it to give their opinion.

Awesome! Looks like Evolution Studios took my advice. I wrote them a while back and asked them if they would include motion steering, after finding out from one of them that the motion sensing would only be used to attack people.
And their reply:
Hi there,
Simon Benson asked me to mail you to respond to your mail.
The address you suggested is fine to send a DVD to. As for the motion controller, I'm afraid we
can't respond at this moment in time, due to disclosure issues. We'll give you more information as
and when we can.
Best wishes,
Matt Southern,
Game Director,
Evolution Studios
BTW, Evolution Studios are the NICEST developers on the face of the planet. They have always gone out of their way to help me out with anything they possibly could. EVERYONE buy motorstorm, and any other game they ever release. They rock!

I got the same thing from Insomniac. I wrote them a couple suggestions for Resistance, and I got back a really nice letter, including the person saying that they are always looking for new talent and I should submit my resume :)

Nice thread MILR...I'm pretty sure Resistance will be great man don't worry-u can't say for sure it's the next great one or not without playing from start to finish tho...I belive that's all he's saying. Frosty-I hope the devs took to heart what u wrote man, motion sensing in the entire game (not just hitting and bumping) would be a very nice experience I think...Either way-I'm getting the game as soon as I can find a PS3 so don't worry...
Siraris-aren't u a designer or coder or something??! Submit that resume man!! Go be a part of the team and gives us another inside scoop!!!!!!!!

That is an amazing picture! I love anything to do with extraterrestrials!!!! COOL!
By the way, that's very appropriate because the transistors inside the PS3 were originally created after Bell Labs was given some debris to examine from a crash craft found in the deserts of New Mexico. Of course it was the most primitive technology found in the integrated circuits recovered from the wreckage.

Is this not incredibly important to anyone else? Why aren't people jumping on this? It shows that sixAxis is not a gimmick but a real and viable primary control device. All the FUD being spread about the PS3 controller and people selling it short with just tilt functionality (as opposed to it having all of the functionality of the wiimote minus the sensor bar) as an add-on to augment current control schemes, this shows the DS3 can be just as revolutionary in certain contexts as the wiimote (obviously not as a pointer).

^Because we've known this since people gave really good reviews of it at TGS, when playing LAIR & Warhawk.
Anyway, it looks like the next issue of PSM3 is a must-have! We get a Kojima interview on ZOE3, full hands-on reviews of Motorstorm, Resistance & Warhawk. And finally: A review of PS3 itself, the XMB, Linux, webbrowser, etc!!! Assuming that this is the final FW, of course.

I think u gotta cross Warhawk outta there tho man-the released dates been pushed back to Summer07:-(
It makes me sad-since I know Jaffe is behind and it's one of my most anticipated games-However-it seems like PS3 will have a steady flow of games leading up to the big MGS4 in 07-If they can get the PS3 out there-people are gonna get it...I see a lot of games for March tho-Jan. & Feb. needs some love too

(since they can comment on the controller)Honestly man-No one at TGS even mentioned rumble-I seriously doubt it was that big of deal with the visuals and gameplay right in front of them-especially for the games that focused on the 6axis controls. My advice-just scratch rumble off as something that would've been cool on top of 6axis-but still can live without it. Then if they add rumble in the future-you'll be pleasently surprised..

They thing is that I got used to the rumble thing cuz when I play Burnout Revenge I get to feel when I smack the other guys and when they smack me back.. I love the motion controller but it will be nice to have the rumble as well..
