They also have a preview of the 60 GB, and what i love is that they actually have an average user rating with 416 rating, like it's already released.

Uh, this is just some article on what they think will happen. They don't have the console, from what I can see...

I can't figure for the life of me WHY oh WHY do people constantly compare the $600 PS3 to the $400 360? They aren't in the same league. The $500 PS3 equals a $400 360 and betters it by a great margin. Now that HDMI is included in the lower end model you can't even compare them. I think that needs to somehow be made clear, I dont understand how these 'tech' places can confuse that.

Either that or they should include the price of HD-DVD add on for 360 to make it fair!

Terrible article. I had the urge to write CNET and ask for better 'research' before posting anything.

While the company originally explained the difference as a simple memory disparity, further research has uncovered that the $500 model will lack built-in Wi-Fi and a built-in flash-memory reader. Microsoft caught some flak for releasing a bare-bones Xbox 360 Core System, a version that was easily upgradable to the exact same specs as the more expensive deluxe version with the purchase of a few expensive accessories. The PS3 should be able to do the same, though the upgrade path for the hard drive, the flash-memory reader, and Wi-Fi compatibility remains vague.

While the six-direction motion sensitivity of the PS3 controller worked well when we tried it, it pales in comparison to the Wii's more fully realized 3D motion control. It probably didn't help that Sony announced the PS3's new controller the day before the Wii's playable debut.

I couldn't find the date but this was THE shittiest article EVER. If this was actually written quite recently it even tops some articles from [the unmentionable site] to take The Shittiest Article Ever crown.

I don't even know where to start! And I don't think I will. Holy christ this was so fucking crap I nearly spooged out my eyeballs and drank a pint of acid and the dumbass sites that claim to be fuc.....*dissapears*

I'm thinking about writing them too lol. If i didn't know better i would think the writer was a x-box fanboy.

Ya. Pretty lame. Virtually no talk about the functionality or actualing previewing some of the stuff it did. More banter on "how is the PS3 going to go up against 2nd gen MS games and the Wii at the same time. That's unpossible!"

These journalists really got to take a wait and see approach on these sales numbers and how popular X system will get. Not everything can be predicted, otherwise we wouldn't be having a fricking PS3 in the first place. I'm pretty sure back then they didn't know that the PS1 would sell excess 120 million consoles...

^ I agree. They didn't know anything then, and they still don't now.

It seems like a lot of media resources that write on the Playstation 3 mix their opinions [ most often a negative opinion ] with facts or speculation to down play the Playstation 3; with Microsoft and Nintendo basking in praise.

I guess that's expected when you're on top, though.

That is why sony should have gotten rid of $600 pack. Many uneducated people think ps3 is $600 only, this is definitly bad for Sony. The difference looks $200 bigger between ps3 and the 360 for an average joe.Sony should split 499 and 599 sku 50/50 to keep $499 price tag visible

First you say that Sony should have gotten rid of the $599 version, and then you say that it should be split even.

I don't think Sony is obligated to educate anyone that doesn't already know what the $599 version entails to warrant the price increase. Chances are, if you DON'T know, that version probably isn't for you.

Now, I do agree with the idea of splitting the versions equally. But with the shortages the Playstation 3 is facing, it's more important to generate a larger profit earlier from the $599 version; and then later on make use of the 50/50 idea.

It probably didn't help that Sony announced the PS3's new controller the day before the Wii's playable debut. Moreover, Sony's Warhawk was the only motion-based game on display at its E3 booth, compared to the two dozen or so Nintendo games that utilized the Wii remote.

This made me laugh. It just killed it. They didn't really test it out im guessing. Why would compare the ps3 controller and wii controller if clearly the wii's concept it based on that. I really don't think they actually used either the ps3 controller or the wii-mote.

I think this is an old article. They even show the old controller, and the way they talk it's as if they haven't seen TGS. So yes, this isn't new. Thanks.
