" I think u gotta cross Warhawk outta there tho man-the released dates been pushed back to Summer07:-(
It makes me sad-since I know Jaffe is behind and it's one of my most anticipated games-However-it..."
This is quote i read from you that raised my eyebrow.
Dylan Jobe and Brian Upton is the leadmen(director/producer i think), did not now who they was before. The latter app battlefield producer but i never heard of Jaffe being involved, is he?

Well, he isn't working on it, he's busy with some bomberman game. He is involved with it in someway, but him and his team aren't working on it

Cant find anything at all that connect him now with these guys, they split time on PS1 or something. No more evidence Omnicloud time to explain! ;)
Cant find anything concrete that he is working on it now Seph!
But both work in the Santa Monica Studio so i guess im wrong and you are right. :)

AFAIK:
Dylan Jobe works at Incog and is the director/producer.
Brian Upton works at SCEA Santa Monica and is also serving as the director. Brian Upton was the lead designer for the original Rainbow Six and the original Ghost Recon.
Jaffe is the creative director at SCEA Santa Monica and not directly involved with Warhawk, although Jaffe does work with Incog on other projects.

Here's where I got Jaffe working on the game front mate:) David Jaffe Finishing Work on Casual Game
The creator of God of War is excited to be heading in a new, less epic direction.
by Daemon Hatfield
September 27, 2006 - David Jaffe, designer of God of War and Twisted Metal, recently used his blog to drop hints about his unannounced new game planned for this holiday season.
Jaffe has commented previously about wanting to start developing casual games, as opposed to the action epics he's become known for. Continuing this new direction, he has disclosed a handful of details about his first casual project, scheduled to release over the next few months. Jaffe had been working on a secret PSP title codenamed HL, but that has apparently been shelved for the time being.
"As for the game, I can tell you, it's NOT HL," Jaffe writes in his blog. "That game is -- for the moment -- on the shelf. The core reason is that it was very ambitious and so was/is WarHawk. The same developer is making both games (with some key members shared between both games) so Scott (head of Incognito) and I said: f--- it. We'll do HL later...maybe. But for now, let's make something else."
Jaffe goes on to confirm this "something else" is a more casual approach to gaming. "It's totally NOT a game like HL was going to be, or GOD OF WAR for that matter. It has stuff in common with Twisted Metal, Bomberman, and...well, a few other things that I ain't gonna talk about yet!"
He also explains a bit about why he's taking this new direction as a game designer. "I CAN tell you that man, SHORTER, LESS EXPENSIVE GAMES....wow! What a BLAST to be working on these things! I feel like the old cartoonists who used to make Bugs and Daffy must have felt; how Rankin-Bass must have felt, pumping out show after show after show... Just knocking them out, and some are -- worst case -- just average, while some are amazing. But it adds up to a hell of a batting average over time and lots of fun games. I have not dug the work this much in ages!"
A post earlier this week hints at how the new game will be distributed. "Sadly, our new game will not be at TGS this week BUT it will be hitting the air waves (as in, you can purchase it from like, you know, the air waves!) in the next few months if all goes well..."
So, what all that tells us is that this new game is a more casual affair and should be available from the "air waves" this holiday season. David Jaffe is a Sony employee, so the title won't be showing up on the Xbox 360 or the Wii. He mentions the new game is running in 1080i, so it's not a PSP title. Could it be planned for Sony's PlayStation 3 online service launching alongside the console?
It doesn't take an ancient diety to put these stone blocks together.

Ok it sounded like they had took that quote from another qoute on his blog from 2005 mid.. :) Who gives a shit, who says he is good or better for the job anyway.
The onlything that matters is that the game turns out great in the end. It looks rough on the ground now esp the forrest..
Pretty weak, IMO... :(
The gfx or statement? :)?

This game looks okay, but really is nothing too special. The air combat looks very good, the clouds look great, and the water looks amazing. But the combat on land looks so cartoonish compared to the realism of the air combat.

Graphically the game looks gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous, but the jury is still out on the ground combat. It looks a bit strange.

Don't expect the ground combat to look like R:FOM or COD3 or the likes. Those games put you in smaller defined areas and that gives a lot of more room for visuals. Warhawk gives you a huge playground with both aerial combat and ground battles.
However, I think the game looks really good, the ground battles will probably improve a bit before launch and most importantly: the game looks like a lot fun!

Look at just how much enemies are on screen on the ground!! There's some nice physics, it's smooth, fast pace-and can u imagine 7 or 8 of those other people running around are actually people on ur team opposing another 10 guys??! I think some of us are missing the point to Warhawk. Sure the main game is flying-and that looks the most polished and fun. But u can get OUT!! Run around and jump into a tank. Hide in a Warehouse and take out a plane with a Rocket launcher! I think this game is designed for FUN-and they've already achieved that and still have months and months to polish...THis game will be one of the best titles to grace PS3 IMO...

I'm not a fan of shooters like COD or GRAW and the ground combat looks pretty average and similar to other shooters IMO.
I really love the look of the air combat though and I think that is the main portion of the game, so I may buy it for that alone. I would have prefered it if the whole game was air based combat though.
if you asked me, ground battles shouldn't be there at all. only if you like provide air support for ground troops and what not. as long as you are still flying, that's what the game should focus about.
I am saying that because this is the game's debut. there is so much to prove and you can't afford to waist any time, resources or the chances of getting bad reviews on that part of the game.
the next installment can maybe do these ground missions if they will still be alongside the game's quality level. by that time, the devs would have much more time and experience working on PS3.
I am simply worried this will turn out to seem like an after thought half-backed bothersom part of the otherwise fantastic looking game.
just my 2 cetns.

Sony needs to STOP doing this bits and pieces show and tell, and do a FULL-ON demonstration like showing an early level, WITH STORY CUTSCENES, WITH MULTIPLE GAMEPLAY MECHANICS, via a PROPER DEMO. The E3 "just fly around shooting at stuff" demo style DOES NOT leave the great impression that is needed to really promote the game.

BUT THE GAME ISN'T PLANNED UNTIL SUMMER 07, SO THERE'S STILL PLENTY OF TIME TO PROMOTE IT! >_<

That's only because they delayed it, if they're aiming to make sure the game is a beautiful, polished mega-title, they need to make sure people are aware of it early-on.

Technicaly the game isn't delayed, it never had an announced release date people just assumed it was a launch title.

I thought the devs said that all missions will be completed in the air and you never really need to go on foot unless you want too.
Warhawk is about freedom. It's almost like one big sandbox, but it's just one big war torn sandbox.

Like Resistance, it had always been intended to be a launch game, they had to delay it because obviously the polish isn't there yet, it was NEVER going to be one of those holiday 2007 games, it was NEVER expected to be released as late as summer 07.

I think those in doubt about the ground battles need to watch this MP footage (http://www.playsyde.com/leech_3075_1_en.html). It looks great visually. It's definitely no RFoM, which of course would be silly to expect, but it definitley doesn't bring the game down at all visually or gameplay wise, infact it loks like a blast.
After watching that^ footage read this (http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/action/warhawk/news.html?sid=6158291).
Warhawk, all around, is going to be great :smoke:

I don't know about this game...I've never thought it looked all that impressive, and now that I've seen the ground aspect of the game I'm even more skeptical. It just seems like it would be difficult to make both aspects of the game great and I fear that as a result both will end up being mediocre. I hope I'm wrong here, but that's the impression I'm getting of the game so far.
