Almost made me break into tears. The ending makes the crash in penselvania even more sense, its also heart pounding, thanks to the intensity of the scene, and the music as well. Every detail ever told to the public was used in the movie, EVERY detail. Its amazing.
The movie is not for the weak of scrimige, nor for those who feel emotional about 9/11, because the events that lead up to the ending are heart-pounding intensity laced with a sad ending. Its not what you think. I won't spoil it.

They reviewed it in the paper and it was listed as a comedy because the "American Patriotism" is laughable. Or so it says.

This, as well as World Trade Center, I refuse to watch. Both unbelievably pathetic attempts to cash in on other people's suffering.

Thank god I didn't pay for rental, a family friend of mine did, however. Now, that I've seen United 93, makes me curious on how in the world CAGE (or someone else, someone remind me) would do WTC. Let alone what part he had in the movie, and stuff like that.

how can you call them "unbelievably pathetic" if you havent watched them?
i havent seen flight 93, but World Trade Center is worth watching. It ends on a happy note and is a great story. its a little slow, but true.
i really didnt see a problem with World Trade Center. It talks about how we grew stronger as a nation(...then at least), and i am sure those who died would have wanted it to be made.

I find it funny when people laugh about American patriotism.
We're not going to have any America bashing in this thread. It's uncalled for. Especially, making light of a subject related to 9-11.

As for United 93, I saw it (ticket proceeds went to the memorial being built for that flight's victims). It was a very moving movie that really makes you proud of this country and stand up for what we believe in. The way our ordinary citizens bested their trained terrorist fighters is quite a testament.
Pro A.

United 93 is a great movie. Very little pandering or bashing (there seems to be a little bit of soapboxing with the FAA and the ground crews) but otherwise Greengrass and his crew made a movie that grabs you by the heart and forces you to watch in complete amazement. Definitely a front-runner for best movie of 2006.

I'm not saying the movies were even bad...I'm saying the fact that suffering was used for profit, is pathetic.

Uh, they make Vietnam movies and WW2 movies and WWI movies, no one has a problem with those.
I saw United 93. Honestly... it was well made but bored me to tears.

I thought the movie was stupid. Every woman that had a baby was carrying it during the movie, one memorable scene was 3 adults standing around...carrying babies, and the mother passes the baby to talk to her husband... I don't know what the director wanted to tell me with this, but what I understood was: Baby wielding families have a natural "hero" gene.
And I believe that this movie was released before they released the black box records, so it was inaccurate.
(No I am not saying the event of these people standing up to the terrorists was dumb, just the fact that the director was shamelessly trying to get an emotional rise from the audience by spamming us with babies)
