The Republican National Committee enlists Xboxes to boost voter registration.

March 23, 2004 - As part of the Republican National Committee's efforts to register more than 3 million new voters in time for this fall's presidential election, the organization's 18-wheeler registration rig, dubbed "Reggie," will be fitted with Xbox videogame consoles, flat screen plasma televisions, DVD players and satellite television service.

Reggie the Registration Rig began its eight month tour of the United States on March 3 in Washington DC and is being driven by a pair of Nebraska Republicans, Deke and Christine Henderson. Both faithful Republicans list Arizona as their favorite vacation spots.

No details on which titles would be available on Reggie's Xbox consoles were available. Analysis of photos from several registration events involving the registration rig, however, suggest some sort of racing title at the very least.

Uhh... so I guess this means that Bush will lose! HAW HAW HAW!

Seriously though, they should have done something like this before. A lot of dopey people who don't vote sit around and play videogames, and this combines the two, encouraging people to register.

I find propaganda like this repulsive.

Popularity contest is all it is.

You can see two stoners now on elevtion day.

"hey, who should we vote for man?"

"hey, remember the one with the xboxes? That rocked, he's cool. He'll make a great president"

"hey, which one was that?"

"I dunno, I wasn't paying attention to it, I was checking out the DOA tits"

Console that losses a few billion dollars in a couple of years and they are endorsing that.

I like Bush and all but that is stupid.

Vote on politics, not popularity.

I think its fine...I mean come on with all the crap the Dems use in the way of celebs plugging them all the time, the GOP deserves to have a little bit of stuff like this.

My only complaint is that they didnt choose Nintendo. I mean, after all, its always best when 2 winners work together. ;)

Eh, The Republicans have been the kind of winners that Nintendo is for years (mmoral victories, better rhetoric, while demagogues from the other party get the votes)... I think they shoulda picked ps2's..

Now Jimmy, I don't think you're giving people enough credit. Most of America's youth isn't that dumb.

True but I don't like the whole popularity propaganda here.

Vote on the right pres, not the best party thrower.
