Here's the new remote for the PS3, kind of reminds me of the PS2 remote.
Do you like?

Looks good to me, but I hope you can program a universal remote to opperate the Blu-ray functions of the PS3, now that would be nice...

Somehow retro and a bit ugly, but as long as it works... I like the fact it's Bluetooth, feels neat.

I think it looks solid, unlike the PS2's, that is good enough for me.

A bit old looking compared to other Sony stuff which are usually all very futuristic and nice looking.
But I am guessing that remote will work with Sony BD Players as Sony always workled that way.
If something has a Sony label on it, you can bet your ass it will work with other Sony stuff.

Look on the bottom corner of the buttons it says 'Bluetooth' so no IR port :-(

It's terrible. It looks like it's from the 80's. There are better ways to have a button layout on remote controls instead of just packing them in rows and columns. Also the buttons are small. Both these factors mean that using it is gonna be a bitch. There's no reason in 2006 why we should hare remotes that look like that.
I'll wait till a third party creates something much better like they did with the 360.

Looks like my PS2 remote .. only bigger. I have too many remotes lying around the house. If the controller works just fine, then that would be ok with me.

yea the design is ok, but not planning to get it. 6axis is enough for me, it would be great if you can charge it via mini usb as well.

I will learn to use Sixaxis by heart, no need for remote. I use DS2 for DVD now, and it works fine when you know what the buttons do...
I guess the superfast slotin and the new interface will recognice and start a BD-movie a lot faster then PS2, and no cabels for Sixaxis is more then I asked for, so a remote for PS3 is not needed. I'll be proud to use Sixaxis...
If I am ever to buy a remote for PS3, it has to look alot better than that, whith lights and sensors, and no cheap plastic. Like the Qualia series from Sony...
What do you think of the PS3 remote?
the same as I think about every other console remote.

Looks like it will do just fine. Like others have said before, it is very much like the PS2 remote in concept. I am however interested in the fact that it is Bluetooth. Seems the PS3 is gonna be supporting a lot of Bt accessories.
Is it true that the PS3 does not have an IR port/sensor? I find that a little hard to believe. How would the PSP communicate, hard-wired USB? That would suck.

Usb with 20gb modelYou can very probably use a USB WiFi add-on for the 20 GB model.

look at the same remote control with the lights off for better Blu-ray playback and you will see (as i did with the DVD on PS2) that larger numbers and brighter colours are a necessity.
Wi-fi/usb with 60gb model
Usb with 20gb model
and ESP with the 300gb model.
