I wish I could get my hands on it. Well I hope they worked on the BD Codecs.Huh? Blu-ray movies can use the same codecs HD-DVD movies use. I guess you are talking about some criticism for using MPEG2 on the first BD25 movies, but that's mostly up to the studios. Next month we will see Blu-ray movies using H.264 codec and being shipped on BD 50 discs.

Pfft, rumble is SOOOO last-gen ;)A two generations ago thing to say the least ;)

Nothing is preventing a 3rd party from releasing a rumble enabled controller. Devs can support it in all games because lack of rumble doesn't hinder gameplay like lack of HDD or BD would. (which is why games can't be made to rely on HDD or HD-DVD on 360, they can't count on it being in every system)

Seems like Japan is getting a lot of PR love considering their only getting 100,000 units at launch. I guess it's just to show Sony hasn't forgotten about the land of the rising sun.

so limited. think more than 'launch day'. by the end of the year, there will be at least 1.2 million PS3s shipped in both Japan and N.A. the target is to ship 6 million by March. that is only 12 weeks after that.
Yep, October is going to be the Sonyeventsmonth . Good find!
lol, you can say that again. ;)

They can program for the presence of a HDD.

They can program for the presence of a HDD.But not in ways that would make the games take full advantage of it, like the ability to stream from both the HDD and the optical drive at once. That's why Saint's Row couldn't include flying.

Great find Z. The more PS3 word on the street, the better.

True, but it's very limited, since anyone who uses the HDD risks alienating a big part of the userbase.

It's mostly used by games like MMORPG's, and stuff like that. Like FF XI, which required a PS2 HDD.
