I'm not sure that anybody has recognized it, but my avatar image is a game sprite. Can anybody guess what game it comes from? (Even if somebody hasn't played this particular game, some logical deduction could lead to the answer, or somebody could just simply recognize it.)

It's from the ending of Mega Man 7. :D

I figured somebody might have recognized it, but I also said that it was possible to deduce which game it came from. It's obvious that it isn't from an 8-bit MM game, so that eliminates Mega Man 1 through 6. It's obviously not Mega Man X or Mega Man.exe, so that eliminates all titles involving those characters. After that, (and this part requires knowing me a bit) if one considers that I don't care too much for PlayStation or the MM games that appeared thereon, that eliminates all those titles, too. That basically leaves only SNES Mega Man games other than the X series, which narrows it down to just Mega Man 7.

One could then deduce beyond that to where it came from by figuring, first of all, that it obviously isn't a sprite one would see when playing a side-scrolling stage, so it must be from some sort of cinematic-type screen. Though his expression and posture is determined and serious, it isn't aggressive or defensive, so it must be from the game's end after everything is finished.

My avatar is much smaller than the game's image, which originally was displayed rather large on the screen in the game during part of the ending. After having defeated Wily yet again and with his fortress left as a burning ruin, Mega Man is shown walking away with flames burning large in the background.

This is the tune that accompanies it (just to throw it in for the heck of it):

Yeah, but just one; Mega Man 7. Well..., there was Mega Man Soccer, which is more entertaining than normal soccer, but let's not think about that game.

It's the only soccer game I ever cared for, to be honest about it. I loved using characters like Needle Man who could launch the ball with spikes acros the field, slicing straight through anybody in its way.
