View Full Version : Talladega Nights Bundled with PS3

I'm getting phone calls on a regular basis from GameStop this week. The first was a survey, and earlier today, I got an automated phonecall (specific to people who preordered PS3s). The automated voice said, among a bunch of other things, that Talladega Nights (on Blu-Ray) would be bundled with the PS3 on launch. Free movies are always cool, and that one is really funny. Has anyone else who got a PS3 preorder gotten phone calls from Gamestop or EB Games lately about the PS3 or for surveys or something?

Couldn't they have picked a better movie? lol...I guess more of an all ages comedy is appropriate...I just would expect something that would take advantage more of Blu-Rays capabilities...I mean, do we really need that movie in hi-def? lol...free is free though I wouldn't ever pay for it.

I got the call today as well. I thought the movie was funny, not one I would buy on blu-ray but I'll take a free copy.

I got the phone call also. I haven't seen Talledega Nights yet. Its doesnt look to be a movie I would be interested in but a free movie is a free movie none the less. Does anyone have a link to some BR movies that will be out this winter.

Yeah i got the call, i was laughing my ass off..At first i thought it was a bad call like your pre order was cancelled and i will have to wait second shipment...lol

Yeah I was starting to wait for some bad news. But no they just wanted to tell me that anything you trade in towards store credit on your PS3 gets an extra 20%!

Jerks didnt even call me to tell me I could preorder even though I was on the call list at two stores. This call I wouldn't have expected considering I missed out on the preorder...

I got the call as well. I already knew about the movie being packed in, but I'm sure that those who didn't appreciated the call.

Why do people have to act like this? Of course there may be more... universal choices for a movie, but the amount of movies on Blu Ray right now is limited anyway. Honestly, it's kind of a first for a home console to come with any movie at all I think so there's no need to bash it's inclusion.

why not $100 and some beer instead? personnally, If I watch spiderman 2 again, i will scream. Horror or nothing for me, but then if you are going for all audiences, I suppose comedy is the best choice. after all, young children will probably be receiving this for xmas.

We don't have to attack the man ya know... can we get back on topic? I never did see the movie, is it any good? From the commercials it doesn't seem like it has my type of humor in it, but anyone seen here seen it?

I agree the "stupid" humor in movies is getting annoying IMO. I miss comics like Dennis Leary (thats a funny guy), or Robin Williams stand up (damn hilarious). I could care less about elves jumping on trees or an egotistical anchorman

Even if Last Chance is all "Sony is the stoopid, why not better movie, blah blah" in his own sort of tone, I would prefer the Spiderman movie anyways. I think they actually would never have done Spiderman because it's gonna explode with sales on it's own anyways. Great movie lol.

Was anyone else disappointed in Superman? I was so excited when they advertised the plane scene, and I thought that the climax and stuff would be so cool, but the plane scene ended up being awesome as it was, and it was near the beginning, and then the rest of the action scenes were not nearly as cool....
