Good thread at the Wii section, thought I'll steal it- Sony style ;) I want to let you all know that I was planning to make this thread, it is a coincidance it was made at the Wii section first ;)

lol- All kidding aside:

My biggest worry is of course- The overall stability of the console. PS2s are actually very good when it comes to that, seeing the only problems with them seem to be the DVD-Drive but obviously PS3 is a much more complex hardware and there is a lot of new technology inside it.
I just hope when the PS3 launches there won't be a problem with The Cell or Blu-Ray that will make Sony take PS3 off the shelves to fix. I am sure Sony will test the hell out of the PS3 but you can never be sure with new technology.

Other than that....ermmm....lol....The price I guess.
I am interested to see what people come up with, so post ahead :)

Yeah, I'm just worried about mine not crapping out on me any time soon.

Consumer backing. If it doesn't get a large enough consumer userbase, we won't get many quality games out of it, which would be a shame. More units sold = more money available to Devs to make some real gems.

well if recent surveys are anything to go by, we are good.

I am most worried about the BD drive, however i think it will be mostly ok. Remember, not having a try is just less to break and I think Sony really wants BD to succeed.

I'm only worried that it might take a long time for the bigger franchises to come. Because really, that is the reason I am getting a PS3, for those MGS4s, FF XIIIs, Kingdom Hearts,' and Gran Turismos.

I am pretty confident in my thinking that the PS3 will do fine with consumers. I am thinking of how many CNN and ABC and wahtever news reports of the *new* PS3 with Blu-Ray from Sony and how it will affect the format wars. I am honestly scared for the 360 because I have a feeling it might get cut short in the news reports because they might try to highlight the PS3 because it is newer and whatever.

I'd say production. It's there only real indisputable problem at the moment. You could say price as well, but everyone here knows that the consoles will continue to sell out for quite some time even at it's current price. The pre-orders being snapped up in a flash is evidence of that, especially since the vast majority were for the $600 model. So, demand isn't the problem. They need to pour all their available resources into supply, then be ready to eat another price cut the second demand begins to slack.

i still worry about the price of the console. 600 dollars is alot of money and even though i'm going to buy it i hope sony drops the price of the ps3 by e3 next year.

That has to be the one thing I am not worried about at all. I've already pegged Sony and the PS3 as the big seller this generation... again.

Mostly I'm only worried about the PS3's crappin out. I also have concerns that the PS3 online network will be as buggy and crappy as Xbox live was for the 1st 2 months of the Xbox 360's launch.

That's more then likely not going to happen till Oct/nov of 2007 IMO.

Only worry is the haters will win and the console will only sell 20-30 million worldwide. Big games need big user bases, I'd like it to at least pass 50 million.

But yeah, playing Tony Hawk Project 8 demo today, and you think just how much better this game would be with these graphics only sixaxis. Without it TH8 is a giant bore, with it, new and hawt. That's the PS3 effect.

The only thing Im even remotely worried about is the arrival of my pre-order outside of that its pretty much easy skating.

Biggest worry is production, if they can't get them out quickly enough they may be left in the dust, which means less good games.

launch if anything. They are going to start off with a weak userbase compared to the other two no matter what.

the price might detract some people... even if it is worth it.

PS3s not working after a few years. that would suck.

Hmm..well the early blues come with just about every console. Defaults, shortages, minimal games available-all of that will come. With PS3 I think the games are coming even faster than PS2 because of Sony's World Wide Studios.

I think my biggest concern is Consumer Awareness. Many people don't browse the forums or view gaming sites like I do. I feel like many people won't know what PS3 is really capable of. This will get spread around quickly enough by early adopters-but PS3 has so much more inside of it than being a game machine-some of it's features (Linux) might get overshadowed by the media.

One of my biggest worries actually is Linux, and what that gives hackers access to. That could really turn out to hurt Sony if they crack the Blu-ray copy protection. This kind of hack could squash Blu-ray in the eyes of studios, and Sony would take a huge hit.

Consumer FUD. Actually just FUD in general. The slashdot story about Lik-Sang closure generated alot of 'let's boycott sony' comments. That may hurt Sony in the beginning, especially since some people can't just let go of the rootkit, atrac3 and battery events.

But I do think that's only in the beginning. Playstation 3 will prevail, it's just a matter of time.

My biggest worry is that they can't ramp up production fast enough.

My worry is that developers dont untilize the system as much as they can, hopefully consumers show a stong enough intrest so that the developers become inspired enough to try new things.

Me, just worried about any bugs in the hardware. I'm sure you're gonna have your share of faulty PS3s, just hope it's non of us.

I'm worried that if I will get one it will break on me as all of my cursed Sony products seem to... :( But I think they've learned from MS to start testing as early as possible.

I've had my PS2 dropped numerous times my my little twerp cousins, from a height or 3-4 ft, and it has been going strong till now since I got it When it came out in '00.

Damn it sucks to hear about all these PS2 problems everyone has.

My biggest concern is getting one. I missed the EB preorder (14th in line at a store with 8 preorders) If my mom can get to Toys R Us on Sunday (at college with no TRU around...) then I'll be set.

I'm more worried about not being able to get one due to the shortage of available unit.

That and Heavenly Sword because they've basically shown squat since E3 and they haven't done a good job explaining how the combat works, and how it can stay interesting, and whether there are other things to do besides just fighting enemies. I'm also hoping for a more interactive, go anywhere environment like Soul Reaver instead of like Primal where you're really limited in terms of the path you can take with tons of invisible walls.

My biggest worry is... franchises like Metal Gear, Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Devil May Cry all going to the Xbox 360 and Wii leaving me with an expensive piece of hardware where I can get the games I want on other systems...

BUT that's not going to happen so Im pretty much good to go regarding the PS3, now all I need is for Nov17th to arrive faster.. I have campin to do!!

I'm worried if I'll be able to see one at the same official price as you people in major territories like US, Europe and Japan.

I'm worried if the games will play the same without rumble as a feature in the controller. But i know ill get used to that, my most major concern is when they are going to ramp up production. i asked a gamestop employee a couple days ago about when their next shipment of PS3s will come after launch arrives, and he said around march 07. Hopefully Sony will keep their promise on the 1 million unit mark for this year.
