View Full Version : PS3 Pre-Order at ToysRUs This Sunday 10/29
There's a lot of crap about whether this is real or not...but passing on the info nonetheless. I'd recommend calling your local TRU to confirm before showing up - it's what I will do.
This is a (apparently real) scan of the TRU big book. These are the items that will go on sale on the 27th, but the PS3, Wii etc. go up for pre-order the 29th.

Hope it's helpful and that you don't get there before me.

^lol. Didn't think to post it for some reason. I guess I figured either everyone here has a PS3 spoken for or already knows about the Toys-R-Us presale. :uhh:

Erh...a search for "Toys" only showed the one talking about Wii pre-orders. Plus, why bother going to any forum but the PS3 one?

This is good news to me. I missed out on the EB preorders, was sposed to get there e-mail but didn't get it till 11:30 that same morning. Buy that time they were all gone. This way i won't have to camp out at Best Buy. I know i'll be first in line to cause i'll leave after work Sunday morning at 5:30 am and just play my PSP waiting in the parking lot till open. Sort of a mini- camp but hopefully i'll be guarnteed one on launch day.
Thanks for the heads up... i'll have to see if there running an ad in this sundays paper when i go to work tomarrow.
Thanks again , best thing i've heard all day.

Early birds queue for PS3, Wii at Toys R Us (http://news.punchjump.com/article.php?id=3229)
Published: October 28, 2006 9:45 PM PDT
Early birds are braving the cold nights to be among the first to own Sony Corp.'s Playstation 3 and Nintendo's Wii.
Toys R Us will begin accepting pre-orders for both new video game systems on Oct.29.
Consumers began lining up in front of Toys R Us retail stores as early as Fri. afternoon to secure a pre-order for the anticipated new machines.
At the Toys R Us in Pomona, CA, nine video game fans were in line by noon on Sat., Oct. 28.
Customers were told that there would be less than 10 PS3s available to pre-order and more than 10 pre-orders available for Wii. In addition, customers at the location would only be able to pre-order one next-generation machine, either a PS3 or Wii.
All nine customers in line were waiting for the PS3, a machine that will be shipped in lesser quantities than the Wii.
GameStop Corp. stores this month began accepting pre-orders for PS3 and Wii in the same week. Both were sold out minutes after stores opened.
Sony said that it will ship 400,000 PS3 units to the U.S. on Nov. 17. The machine will be sold in $499 and $599 SKUs.
Meanwhile, Nintendo is expected to deliver 1 million Wiis to U.S. retail stores on Nov. 19. It will retail for $249.99.

WOW there seems to be way more demand for the PS3 than the Wii.

I called my Toys R Us yesterday, and they are NOT taking pre-orders, so I am kind of confused here...

This morning I woke up early and went to three Toys R Us' in my area and 3 more about a 40 minute drive away. All 6 had people in line and all 6 had been pretty much sold out of both the PS3, Wii and even some Elmo Doll that everyone is after.
After this wake up call....I have concluded that there are WAY more dedicated fans out there and I doubt I will be able to camp out as early as them, guess I won't get my hands on a PS3 till much later. Sucks for me but I respect those that have that kind of dedication to wait in line so long.

Just retarded...I can't wait for 07...The day I just walk in Circuit City and say-"I want a PS3 man..." I can't stand the maddness of launch.

About 4 months later I can hopefully just walk in a store and get one. There will be more games out then (Motorstrom, Heavenly Sword) and the launch games might be cheaper by then anyways. The whole launch/campout/newness is really exciting especially since it only comes around every half decade or so.
Oh well....it gives me more time to save for a nice HD LCD screen nothing too big either a 26" or 32".
Went to two Toys'R'Us stores this morning about 3 hours before they opened and they both had people waiting from the night before. Both Toys'R'Us stores were only getting 7 PS3 untis each! Yikes!

Did the EXACT same thing. Each TRU got 7 units (and 20 Wiis...:whogives: ). And there were enough people waiting to cover both. Came away empty handed.

I missed out at TRU too. Didn't go as planned. Went there Sat night around 8:30pm and there were 8 people there already. 3 of them said they started camping friday night. They missed out at EB Games by 1 person so they were ready this time. There were even 2 poople camping for the Wii. That store was only getting 5 PS3's so i was too late again. I don't think i'll camp at Best Buy cause if it's this crazy for a pre-order camping for the actual system is really gonna be NUTS. I got a job and can't camp for 3 days straight looks like i'll try to get on 2nd shipment.
