I just got the latest issue of gameinformer, adn in the front, they had a page on multiplayer and halo 2. So i read it, and it comes out this fall. but in the back of the magazine, it says september(where you can preorder). So i am pretty sure it comes out September(fall) 2004.

I think the date will change again. Just because.

That is still a while yet.

Was the last release date official? I don't remember. My friend thought it was coming out in March and got all excited. But, it never came.

They can change the release date whenever they want to whatever date they want. If they finish early, and everything looks perfect, they could move the date to an earlier time, if they wanted to.

exactly, but how often does a game get released early? Almost never.

Yeah, but it does happen......even if its not very often.

If they keep delaying the game, atleast you know they aren't rushing to finish it even if it means a crappy job. They are making sure the game is good.

My best guess, and what would be smartest for Microsoft, would be very early November.

Interesting sales match up.

Halo 2 and RE4.

I'm gonna keep saying that it'll launch on X-Box's anniversary.

And Xbox Live's anniversary ;)

The only date Bungie gave is fall 2004. I think that late October to Mid-November is the best guess. Probably November 15th since thats Xbox's anniversary (and more importantly, Xbox Live's aniversary , halo 2 = good reason to renew).

This fall is going to be crazy. Lots of heavy hitters coming out around the same time - Metal Gear Solid 3, Gran Turismo 4, Grand Theft Auto, Halo 2, Metroid Prime and Res Evil 4, etc etc..

Could be one of the best Winter/Fall ever for gamers.

WW2 is also slated for it.

It was never delayed. Bungie never had a set date, the dates IGN, Gamespot, and other sites gave were just estimates.

Does make me wonder how they all came up with the same estimates though.

That's become the new thing now.....don't give a release date for your game when you officially announce it to keep from having 'delays'.
