I had a question about that. In the chat room setting, does it mean 6 people for video chat, or just 6 people for text chat? I think thats kinda impressive if it's 6 people video chatting all at once. :)

If the hard disk has been replaced, some copyright-protected content may not be playable any longer. For details, visit the SCE Web site for your region.

well, that answers that.

it is a standard feature, along with cable and sound settings.

I don't see why a cell based system can't handle more tex messenging at a time. that may only be for video/voice chat.
now, I wonder how many you can get that way while a game is running?

as for me, I'll connect my system with my PC and fill'er up! hehe

In the video section they say file types Ps3 can read:

The following types of files can be played under (Video).

* Memory Stick Video Format
MPEG-4 SP (AAC LC)
H.264/MPEG-4 AVC Main Profile(AAC LC)
* MPEG-1 (MPEG Audio Layer 2)
* MPEG-2 PS(MPEG2 Audio Layer 2, AAC LC, AC3(Dolby Digital), LPCM)
* MPEG-2 TS (MPEG2 Audio Layer 2)

MPEG4 & H264 are playable from Memory Stick only?
It seems no divx because the audio part must be in AAC LLC format...
no MP3 or AC3...
In this way the Video player is not very useful :barf:

I don't like the method to start the other OS (Linux): you have to set it
as Default System (in Settings) and reboot the console!!!
To start PS3 OS you have to press power for 5 seconds...

I through that you can start Linux from the Ps3 OS and return to the PS3
OS with the PS button as in game :smoke:

YES!!!!!!
Using multiple features at the same time

Users can enjoy multiple features at the same time. For example, you can view images under (Photo) or access the Internet under (Network) while playing music under (Music).

Example: Viewing images under (Photo) while playing music under (Music)

1.

Play music under (Music) in the home menu.

2.

Press the PS button.
The home menu is displayed.

3.

Select the images that you want to view under (Photo).

All I want to be able to do is do this in game!!! I want my music on in game!
And if you start a game will my webpages be there when I get back? hmmm....

I recall them saying you could listen to you music in game. Or that the games will allow you to create a custom playlist. Either way they could always go the way of the 360 and just blast ur music over the game audio.

Im just wondering how long its going to be before people start complaining about the OS using 64MB.
Still what I have read from the manual is awesome. I wasn't sure if remote play would pull through -> I'm so happy... now just got to wait... a really really long time

Mp3 and AC3 are music but audio in avi (divx) files too...
They don't say if mp4 file may have mp3 audio they explicity write aac
audio :crazy2:

Well... the OS is upgradable so I hope they add other formats in the
future :pleased:

We can hope. If not, it'll probably be added in a FW update if we beg them for it.

....or you can just turn the audio/music off in the game and keep the sound effects on. Now your own soundtrack becomes the game's soundtrack. ;)
