We knew Wii Sports was coming in a cardboard sleeve for the past couple weeks... well, I did anyway.

Nintendo used to have all their games in paper packaging before the GCN. They didn't even go as far as a Sega Genesis box. The best they did was plastic cap covers or the actual plastic coverings similar to the Genesis that you had to buy.

PC games are in a much worse position. They give us these big ass boxes and the DVD versions are just covered in a paper back that fits around with disc along with a plastic see-through for the cover just like the cds. They give us frickin paper protection. Some boxes were the size of children shoe boxes.

I don't expect Wii Sports to be much of a game anyways. From what I have seen, baseball looks like its going to be a homerun dearby only.

I've always seen Wii Sports like I did First Hunt for DS. It's just a little demo so you have something to play out of the box, and it gives a good idea of what the system can do. And First Hunt came in a cardboard package too (although that little vinyl sleeve for the game cart was cool... I want more of those).

Oh no, now we don't get to have one empty Wii game case at any given time! I put my Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt in the box for whatever game I'm currently playing despite the fact that I have the actual full version, so even if they decide to come out with a full Wii Sports Hunters version, the lack of a case shouldn't get in the way.
