I'm so stoked

The only sucky thing is I get my PS3 on Friday and I leave for vacation on Monday. I won't be able to really start playing until Nov 30.

I would like to hook up with some E-mpire forum posters online, since I consider this PS3 forum my home forum, I want to represent !!!!

I can't resist a gratuitous picture for excite puproses. Can't wait to take on one of these bad boys.

Seems Resistance went gold afterall, or rather living up to its hype. Not only is this an accomplishment from the PS2's launch, or the PlayStation brand period, but now it's considered a a killer application/system seller. That's excellent news.

Has anyone read the reader reviwes on IGN. There are some which say 0.0 game has cheap graphics and no playability. I think old billy boy should stop his mates posting stupid comments. Lets think now. Anyone else think this game looks sh*t. God did they have there t.v even turned on. Even the most stout M$ fanboy has to admit it looks killer.

30 FPS? Wasn't the game meant to be holding at around 60?

Im not sure how much this actually matters, but i don't know, it feels like the game has lost something (though it may be nothing)

Im still stoked for this game, and kicking yours, ours and everyones ass online

It went from 30fps offline and 60fps online with 32 players to 30fps offline and 30fps online with 40 players, it's not really a huge deal as long as the game is rock-solid at 30fps which it is.

Sorry but only trying to point out the obvious here. Ok look at it this way then. Is it possible then that the game could be seen by some as graphically lacking or is it quite obviously a fantastic demo of next gen prettiness. I don't see how anyone can say this game lacks in the looks department.

Next time I will ask the question, Can anyone see how this game can be seen as graphically lacking. As pointed out by some. that does not sound so fanboy orientated

Lol..i would NOT worry about wat ign user reviews say. I just went and it looks like theres only a handful of user reviews under 9...and three zeros which were obviosly written by fanboys who've never played the game. Case and point below.

big turdface poop plop, this game aint next gen, its like playing some old medal of honor game, we dont need any more of those. i give this game a negataive zero ultitmate turd score, basically as good as "blasto" for the ps1, NOT RECOMMENDED. who would actually buy this system for $600 + for this game? not me, thats who. basically if you buy this, your the person who bought "blasto" for ps1, and everyone knows, "done be that guy". your thinking of buying a ps3, but seriously, dont be that guy.

This game sucks. Noobs. Like. Really, really, really, REALLY sucks. If I wanted to kill something harder, I would go outside and shoot a squirell. This game is so boring. I fell asleep. Twice. Guess what my dream was about? Getting a better game. The graphics are okay. NES is better. Okay not really, but they are a bit disappointing. Great Hype, Super cool let down.
i picked up the game today and i was really disappointed when i played it. the gameplay was just a let down. i went to shoot one enemy and it took almost 3 magazines to take it down. it gets boring...

Gears of war user reviews, some people just have crap taste in games. :)

Most of them post in forums... :) Problem is nobody has PS3.

I was banned from the IGN forums a week ago because I couldn't stand to the level of idiocity of the posters there, I called IGN stupid because they let everybody just say and do whatever they feel as long as it's negative or FUD towards sony or the ps3.

I feel way better on this forums anyway.

My subscritpiton at IGN is up at the end of this week and I'll never renew. I've recieved about 1/2 dozen bans from IGN myself but after a day they'll re-instate ou if you request ot be re-instated.

What I do now is go into threads on the IGN PS3 forums, and anytime there is some fanboy stuff going on I post a really lame rant on how superior the PS3 is and then proceed to proclaim how the rest of the console manufacturers do not deserve to exist anymore. This really hits a nerve, and once you chum hte waters the freeding frenzy is almost instantaneous.

I've grown intollerant of the console wars and since there is no winning I just post idiocy whenever I view lame fanboy comments that have ben posted in the incorrect forum in hopes that someday people might realize how lame it is, and why it is ok for people to feel their choice is superior as long as they don't cross forums to proclaim it..

but I don't have much hope.

Christ those two actually look like they could have been wrote by Bill G himself. Never mind like you say the conscious among us can clearly see how good and how important a game it is.

Thing is dont you sometimes get really fed up with the negative vibes that really should not be there. Anyone can see how good this game is. This is the only place i feel i can sometimes let off steam. Sorry but sick of seeing the PS3 pulled to bits when its really obvious its head and shoulders above the rest.

I got banned for calling IGN stupid. I don't troll on any forums, I only posted on the ps3 boards (and I was one of the few that were actually looking forward to the system).

I'll get it since i haven't played too many fps's lately. And i'm sure its similar to Call of Duty but its its own game. I'm still excited to play it. I can't wait to hear some more PS3 game reviews.

I only read up on previews to see what the game is about, what are the settings, etc. I don't care if everybody else loved it or hated it. I know what I will feel playing it. I hate triple A games and I love games that ae being bashed on every website. tasets differ. and I feel that some sources deliberatly skew comments and reviews to geenrate traffic.

The sad part is that SCEA is basically still going to be putting out those demo discs through OPM and they're the ones paying for them, I guess they can't really afford to lose the ad space OPM provides, it's not like they can cut 1UP off since they need the exposure, but sometimes I just wish they can. 1UP has basically taken its hate for everything Sony to an all new level, now it's being taken out on games, it's really sad because the games are really what matter the most, not gaming media personalities, not multi-billion companies, not legions of loyal fans fighting over what's better, when all is said and done.

They didn't really explore the story either, only saying that it has too many parallels to Call of Duty and Half-Life 2, kinda seems like a cop-out to me. Otherwise a fairly solid review.

I would imagine the graphics should get a 10 based on feedback from people who played the title. Also, I'm curious to see the scores for Heavenly Sword next year.

Motorstorm should get a 10 I played it this last friday, and WOW! It was amazing. There are still a few things that need to be ironed out but still It was breath taking. Heres a Pic from my Phone. Sry about the quality

Also I had to reset the PS3 b/c MS froze, and the guy that worked at target had no clue how to. Needless to say it didnt make that beeping noise when it was reset.

I don't get that point at all since there are more than one node and five or six people on each team can go after each node, the fact that Garnett is knocking the game for having 40 players online gets a big WTF. What does that say about Battlefield? Going from 32 to 40 isn't that HUGE a change, it just means you get another small squad on each side going at it somewhere else on the map.

No this was at Super target. I reset the machine and It allowed me to explore the XMB there were all kinds of videos and a few game demos. I didnt think to try the browser, but it'll be out later this week so no biggie. I was still excited that I got to touch it. Speaking about dedication, Ive been waiting for 3 years on this thing reading everything I can on it. Its about time the damn thing launched.

This my friends is why I don't pay much heed to internet reviews in the first place. You can't just take them as the gospel truth, use your own senses to see what you like and don't like. A lot of their critiques are based on personal tastes rather than flaws, and there's plenty of positive merits that get neglected in the review that are cited in others...so just play the games for yourself.

As Insomniac gets back to its first-person shooter roots with Resistance, there is a pedigree here that I think few people expected. Combine that with the power of the PlayStation 3, and Insomniac has pulled off one of the best launch games I’ve ever seen, up there with the likes of Halo and Call of Duty 2.

A killer app? Gameinformer seems to think so...^

Another solid review plus some new screens (I think) this time from Gamepro: 4.5/5
As a whole, Resistance's storytelling far exceeds that of the more juvenile Gears of War. The setup is clearer, the characters are likeable, and the dialogue is actually believable. The tale is surprisingly compelling, providing more than enough juice to keep you engrossed right up to the ending credits.
