But that's part of the experience. You get this completely new console and you sit there for a few minutes going through the manual because you have NO IDEA what does what (even though that's not really true and I could just hook it up right away).

..

Ah hell, I'm gonna read that thing.

Since we are on the PS3 manual, I might as well make this known:

Ken: Hi, Can you please look in the instruction manual and let us know what the standard warranty length is for the Playstation 3 is? Is it 1 year like the PSP or 3 months like the Xbox 360. Thanks in advance.

IGN: The warranty info that came with our retail unit states the PS3 hardware is guaranteed against mechanical defects for one year. So yeah, not too shabby.

Also take notice that the console has not recieved it's firmware upgrade that is said to be available on the day it launches in Japan to correct bugs, create new functions, and enable the PlayStation Network which is listed below. ;)

Those lucky few able to get a PS3 in Japan on launch day will have a pleasant surprise when that get that panini maker out of the box: A firmware update. Yep, Sony's Japanese site released a press release stated that there will be a software update on November 11th to allow "customers to be able to utilize the Playstation Network functions." Hmmm. Firmware updates to fix bugs and add features on the day the product is launched? Two-words: half baked.

You can also change your Startup to the other OS instead of the PS3 OS.

This has probably been answered before but can all the different users go online?

Like on Syphon Filter for the PSP, you CAN create multiple account but it only let's the first registered account to go online so will this be the same for the PS3? Or will every user have their own Friends list etc?

Note: By "go online" I mean play online. I don't mean buying/downloading stuff etc

You set up as many users on your ps3 as you like and each can do everything they please, IIRC.

I understand HDCP is locked on 24/7.

Standard with Blu Ray players.
