Well I guess some people will Take the 360 But Hardcore Sony/Playstation fans will still just get PS3.

maybe but most people know what they want. those people cant sell a 360 on ebay for $1000 anymore.

well there's the parents who if they don't get they're kid a ps3 figure they can get them something. And you could argue that casual gamers would be another target, but casual gamers wouldn't really be lined up for a games console would they?

errr, the X360 is already out. These people are LINING up for hours to get their PS3 and these morons will still try to give them an X360?!

Its a good ploy i must admit.

But it is like:
Everyone has a Game Boy.
But your mother goes out and goes, "sorry but they didnt have any game boys. But the nice man at the store said this is basically the same.*hands you a brick with *game child* scribbled on it with brio.*

At the end of the day, it's really up to the person.

But if you're there for the Playstation 3 chances are that's what you want, because if you wanted an Xbox 360 you'd have it by now.

I think it's interesting that a general electronic store is doing this, rather than a store like Ebgames. I guess they're really trying to keep riots down. Haha.

yes.....but this might be a perfect opportunity for a gamer who has planned to buy 360 to jump on..... he/she can just show up in the morning without camping out and just act like they where in line the whole time.......

I personally think this is just Best Buys' way of just getting rid of 360s that no one wants to buy.....

Why hasn't Best Buy made an official announcement about this? What SELECT stores are they referring to? What makes this site so special to deliver the news first?

I think anybody with the intention of gettin a PS3 within the first few days would know that they were very limited supplys and, and of course knows that the 360 has been out since last year. So realisticly...they'll wait a lil longer if they've gone this long without getting the PS3.

I always figured Best Buy was in bed with MS.

Best Buy got quite a bit of launch units and they were the ones selling units during the big launch hoopla in the desert "Zero Hour".

And is it me, but Sony is suppose to have 400,000 units vs like 325,000 MS had last year.

Yet, it seems like most stores are getting quite a bit fewer units for the PS3 launch.

It's Best Buy not wanting peps to walk out of the store with 700 big one's if they don't get a PS3.

It has more, if not the majority, to do with you investing in something and it not selling the way you had planned for it to. heck, I would do the samething. So I don't see this as anything bad or fanboyish. If anything, I see it as an alternative for those eager Christmas shoppers in search of an alternative solution. Me personally, I would skip the alternative and remain waiting if what I wanted as an experience could only be had and offered through that particular product.

This is really cool of them. Other stores if you don't get the PS3 it's "Sorry, try again next week." At least they are giving some consolation.
