I'm running 8mbps down 768k up which bursts to 16mbps down 1 mbps up on large files. My usual download speed is 900k-1.5 MBps (megabytes, not bits).

You know you can put another lan card in your computer and enable internet connection sharing in windows. This will allow you to run your dad a cable while you can still be connected.

Well since Ive gotten my laptop Im still on dialup 24-28.8k, but when I go to a hotspot I usually get to about 54mbps. Downloading from bearshare only gets up to about 1mbps though.
