im gonna go to walmart to wait for the wii(since it is the only store with a midnight release), but i have no clue of when i should get there. i live in a town of about 90,000, and apparently they are getting 20 from what i have heard. the ps3 launch has kinda scared me, and i am worried people will line up extra early. I am thinking about just waiting till my bro gets off at 4 and go then, but im kinda worried that that will be too late. I am considering getting there at 2.
for those of you who have been to walmart for previous launches(mainly just 360), what time did you arrive, and how many people were there.
i'm starting at late morning on saturday, for an 8am opening. i'd be there early saturday morning for you.

yah... im probably gonna get some stuff done around the house, and check it out between 10-11. it kinda sucks though, because all my friends will be going to best buy, but i need to have it by midnight, although i will screw my sunday activities and just go to best buy if need be.

i was thinking midnight for me as target is getting 69 and it opens at 8 am but now im reconsidering now that you are saying 2pm
get there 10-11, nd if there's already a huge line, go to best buy with your friends. otherwise, it's worth getting it earlier.

just out of curiosity(ill find out as soon as i get there), where do you wait at walmart? By the electronics section? layaway?
presumably outside the door. if you're the first person there, go in and ask an electronics salesperson.

On that note, when should I start waiting around outside of my local Target? It's pretty big, and my town is tiny. I was going to start camping at around 9 pm... Too late?

its probably a good idea to find out how many they will get. before i leave saturday morning, im gonna call around to figure out how many the stores around here are getting. last year, i got to best buy around 10pm, and was like number 10 in line i think. plus, here at least, people tend to not go to target. you should be safe going at 9.

Well, I don't know what to tell you. I would get there saturday... like noonish myself.
i just get to go to gamestop at 11:50 and say "Hey, I'm third in line, move."

Yeah I dont know. It depends on how many they will have. If there is only 20 I would get there early.

Well for the ps3 I got the pre-order slip the night before and I was the 5th of 6. I lined up about 7pm and they didn’t open till 9am the next day at my Fry’s Electronics. I plan on selling the bad boy to fund my Wii and new T.V.
Wii will be much easier to obtain, seeing how there will be so many of them. In my opinion Nintendo is sort of late marketing the system to the casual public. So I would show up maybe 4 to 5 hours before open, and you should be fine.

Layaway is where you wait at walmart, at least at my store. When I went by the PS3 line tonight there were about 15 people there trying to snag one of the 8 consoles we got. Im hoping the Wii isnt gonna be too bad as far as lines go. My plans for launch day go like this. Wake up around 9 or 10 and go to the renissance festival in town for a few hours or so. Then sometime before 2 Im gonna call in to work and tell them Im sick or something. About 2 Ill go over to walmart to get in line and wait it out for 10 hours. Its gonna be a rough 10 hours so I was thinking I could bring my nintendo DS to keep me company. I may even go buy Final Fantasy 3 to play.

I would go there in the morning just to check it out...if there is nobody there at all....wait a little while and come back later sat afternoon/evening.
But my guess is that large lines will be establishing from 4 on out for sure. (who know with the Wii though.... thats why I say go and check it out extra early to be safe)
IEFP: Elite Beat Agents is awesome, but make sure you have headphones.
dncardman: Target opens at 8. Not sure about Best Buy.

I doubt they are getting 69...if you are basing it off the Target Wii stock thing that was online, it's horribly wrong.

^yea... considering my best buy that had the most xbox360s last year in all of my greater area stores is only going to have 40.

When will best buy and target be opening?
Target hands out tickets at 7 and open at 8. I'm not getting in line until 6:30ish.
