I was searching EB games used super nintendo games when i found 3 super nintendo games im intrested in.
Super Metroid-- $29.99
Chrono Trigger--$39.99
F-zero-- $4.99
I'm not perticularly interested in f-zero but for 5 bucks i might as well pick it up anyway. its more chrono trigger and metroid that i really want.
Now although this only adds up to about 74 dollors american, Canadian thats 98 dollors, plus mail fee and thats got to be over 100 bucks. Do you think this is worth it? Or put it this way, would you pay this much for these if you did not own them (for those of you who do)?
Not worth it at all....
trust me.

Really? Would you mind telling me why?
Because
1. They're used
2. They're old, so that only adds fuel to the bad quality fire
3. They're not worth it now
4. Its just too much trouble
5. You could get those for way better prices elsewhere
6. You could buy a dang GBA SP or GameCube with that much money.

yeah that covers it. I know that collecting old games is quite fun...but even so...100 for 3 games...i can't really justify that. now if they weren't opened thats another story.

WEll, if you got Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, and Final Fantasy III, then I say go for it, but as it stands, it isn't a good deal. Look on Ebay.

I have both. But im more into quality. I dont see games as being old or new. Just as if their good or not. I consider some super Nintendo games to be far better and deserving of a 80 dollor price range today like much gamecube games these days. And to put up a argument to your problems with it
1.) Its nearly impossible to find games like that not used. Plus as long as it still works to a point where i can play it, I'm happy.
2.) Like I siad their old but their still new to me and thier great games so it doesn't bother me.
3.) If thier not worth it now then when? Im not going to miss out on some awsome games just becuase i wasn't old enough when they came out to play them.
4.) This is just an excuse to put in more reasons why not to get it. What trouble could possibly come of this. Besides some charging fees which is just natural and isn't much trouble. And im sure EB games would be professional in dealing them. much more reliable then say, e-bay.
5.) I'm all up for ideas. No anywhere where i could get them cheaper?
6.) Already own both.

i wouldnt do it. I would rather much just DL them illegally just because of the price. The only one really worth it is F-Zero.
The others shouldnt cost as much or more as a used GC game.

yeah i guess. .. But playing them on the computer just ain't the same as snugling up in your favorite chair in front of your tv with the lights off and a cup of hot chocolate and a SNES controler and a good ol game to settle back and play.
EB always overcharges for used games....
Do what Skull Kid did and find em at a yard sale for like 10 bucks or something.

sigh... you can't just tell someone to go out their and hope to find a yard sale. Skull Kid stumbled upon a treasure, one can't really go looking for that.

hmm Shining Force 3 new
450 dollars on ebay. Worth it YES!
Although why not by a used one for 40/50 dollars in mint condition. (?)
EB games should not be trusted when it comes to used games...trust me.

If the games are in good condition, that is very worth it simply because all three games wipe the floor with any game released this generation.
You will NOT find a game on the new systems that comes close to the beauty, music and gameplay these three offer. PERIOD.
F-Zero GX owns F-Zero....

Regardless of how they compare to more recent titles, whether better or worse, all three of those games were great. I still own two of the three myself (Super Metroid and F-Zero), and I would love to get ahold of Chrono Trigger, since it was so great. However, wanting so much for used games is a rip-off. People should be able to pick up dated software for a significantly lower price.

yeah but you have to play these games in a certain mindset. When I play a gamecube game I expect good graphics and a characters long game etc. When I play a N64 game I suspect a game with some sort of revelutionary or something to set it apart. N64 was a moving in stage. Games where just making the leap to 3D. And while playing a super nintendo game fun is my top priority.
Trust me you will have tons of more fun playing the classics if you get yourself in a mindset. don't finish playing a round of Halo and then think about how awsome it is and then go right in playing a NES game and then complain about the graphics. You have to pretend like your their. It adds worlds of enjoyment to the old games. Im still amazed every time i play star fox on the SNES becuase I go in thinking its a snes game. Pretend like your in the times. Oh yeah this also works for old movies. Gotta love godzilla.
I could get Chrono Cross, never been opened for 10 bucks at the fleamarket.

I never expect games to have better graphics, sound, or anything else beyond what was reasonable expectation from their respective time periods. It isn't a matter of them not being on par with today's graphics and stuff, but the fact that they are so old. People don't normally expect to pay $20 or $30 for a game from two or three generations ago. I stil play not only my N64 games, but SNES and even NES games and I never think anything about their graphics or audio and don't expect others to, but I don't expect to pay too much for old software. I remember a local store selling old, used Atari games for $5 each and wondering why they wanted anything more than a quarter for them.

I see what your trying to say Holy Paladin. Most if not all Atari games are nothing more then small little mini games by todays standerds. And really do diserve nothing more then a dollor or 2 most for them. But the games I'm talking about are easily as good as todays best gamecube games, or so I'v heard. But Holy Paladin your post was still a little misleading. Would you buy the games?

Ok I'm now going to bid on chrono trigger on ebay for only about 25 dollors or so canadian. Its just teh box, used, nothing else. The selling seems pretty decent, almost no bad reviews 95% rating. he is also selling a few other games so he seems experienced. Im thinking of bidding but my limit is 30 bucks. I have only ever bought one othe rgame off e-bay, which was amrio RPG for about 100 bucks. This looks like the best deal. There are a few others but their selles are less experienced and they do have a few of them but their over 100 bucks becuase thier unsealed with stratagy guide posters, all that stuff. heres the link

Would you buy the games?
If I didn't already have them, I would buy them, but not for that price. Not that they aren't worth it, but that they usually aren't sold for so much. As I've said before, older games generally sell for a lot less, and I'd hate to pay $20 or $30 for a game that would normally be sold for less. They are great games, though.

My Kingdom for Knuckles Chaotix for 32X! I wish there was more online game stores for Canada. Every one is always in US currency and doesn't say if or how much it costs to ship to Canada. It's a hassle I tells ya.
