- When the 360 launched, Playstation fans said "wait till E3 06".
- After E3 06 came and went, Playstation fans said "wait till TGS".
- After TGS came and went, Playstation fans said, "wait till launch".
- Now that launch has come and gone, Playstation fans now say "wait till March when the gaming library starts trickling in." Or "wait a YEAR for the hardware, software and games issues to be sorted out".
How long are we supposed to wait?
^ I guess while you're waiting you can be playing your only good 360 game, GoW. Oh, what's that? It's not my fault you beat it in 15 min.

Whoa, guys, calm down. He's just asking a question. A fairly biased question which reeks of flamebait, but a question nevertheless.
Duty, humans will never be satisfied, we always want something to be even better. That's why everyone is saying "Oh, just wait for XXX, it's going to get much better!". If you went to a 360 board before GeoW, you'd hear "Oh, just wait for November, when GeoW comes, it'll get much better!".
This isn't a Sony-fanboy exclusive.

I'm not waiting anymore. I have my ps3, and I'm perfectly impressed, as is everyone I show it off to. They all want one, whether or not they can or will get one. Some people just don't want to be satisfied.

Haha, the first post made me laugh. He is right though.
I remember the hype around here at E3 and we were 'all' pissed off and disappointed.

hen there was hype around TGS and this time many were impressed but that fucking "lol evrythng iz downgrded" thing kicked in.
And now it launched...I don't know- It's maybe I haven't got it or it's not even out in Europe yet but there doesn't seem to be enough excitement.
Perhaps it's the fact that many are saying "The PS3 is not the PS3 yet" as in there are lots of features that are not 100% or even implemented yet.
I feel the Euro launch (last big thing before PS3 is sent on it's own to saild down the river banks) will be big and exciting enough and then finally PS3 will become what it's supposed to be.
At the moment, I feel Sony is asking a bit too much patience from us all but it is understandable as the PS3 is I believe the most complex hardware ever created.
Once everything is rolling, well...That will be an exciting time.

There is a certain amount of truth to wait you are complaining/asking about. But how the hell would any of us know?? Why start this only to cause turmoil in the forums??? If you dont like the games or unhappy buy a 360, Wii, or gaming grade PC. There is a plethora of other gaming opportunities out there that would be more constructive than such belly aching.
@ Flop King, the 360 has quite a few quality titles available right now, and Gears has approximately the same amount of sp gameplay available as Res. or any of the PS3 launch games (of a reasonable similar genre).

trying to take the question seriously; I don't understand what is that you are 'waiting' for?
for E3 05, we were waiting for the first media focused PS3 public event. we got it.
for the PS Meeting 05, we were waiting to see in game footage. we got it.
for TGS 05, we were waiting for more game announcements and specifically MGS4, and FF13. we got it.
for E3 06, we were waiting for the first public hands-on. we got it.
and from there on, we were waiting to see the games finalize and see the system finally launch. we got it.
the only thing we didn't get was an in depth official system analysis of the system- which of course we hadn't a chance of getting, but hey, we can wish right?
PS3 is selling faster than crack in the 60's. the games are out. the Network is online. PS3 has arrived and around half a million people have already jumped in the bandwagon. the only waiting left is for our pre-orders to arrive.

Actually, that's pretty accurate. 90,000 units made it to the Japanese launch and about 150,000 made it to the US launch.
Just out of curiosity, how many Wii's did Nintendo launch with in the US and Japan?
^ The numbers are still going up. Is Sony making shipments as we speak or is the website just adjusting it's estimates?

The PS3 you should consider as a PSP with the firmware updates it's never over to get new features added like GPS, WebCam, internet exploring, LocationFREE support, future PS3 ingame screens... It's actually a 10years plan

E3 06 was one of Playstation's worse E3. Games were early, few games in general, MotorStorm was at it's alpha stage, and Killzone was a no show. We were waiting, for the software to show what the PS3 was made of. We were waiting for PS3 to really tell us that-"this is truly the successor to PS2" We were waiting for TGS...
TGS delivered HANDS-DOWN!!! No more target renders, no more E3-this is any early prototype crap. NOPE-we got Lair in full 1080p...Resistance 40-player online..Fight Night Round 3 looking even better than before..RR7..MOTORSTORM...Warhawk...White Knight Story showing how small details can change the whole feel of a game...and not to mention gameplay footage of MGS4 iterating the fact that "Damn...that's how the game is gonna a look!" DMC4, GTHD, Monster Kingdom...and more! I don't know what forums you've been in buddy...but it hasn't been anything after TGS but "WHere can I get one!" Indeed...The wait is over man...Many people have picked up a 360 or plan to get a Wii to hold them over until there favorite game for the system comes out. Many people have made there decision already that $500 is too much, and no matter what's on PS3-they're waiting for a price-drop. Many people are sufficient with 360-because they games on the system appeal to them. So...the question you should be asking my friend is...JUST WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

You can wait all you want. Or, you can go out there, buy Resistance, and play it while you wait. Complain all you want, but MGS4 will not be done until it is done. Complain all you want, but GT5 will not be done until it's done. Complain all you want, until PUNK em 733 comes over and put his foot in your ass, but Final Fantasy 13 will not be done until it's done.

It's not out in Japan yet. Like the DS before it, the US gets the goods first. I do know that 400,000 units will be allocated to the launch in Japan.
No formal figures have been given for the US shipments but I've heard 700,000 a few times. That's the largest launch day allocation ever and they sold out.

Most likely it's the web site adjusting as new figures come in. Sony will make shipments on a weekly/bi-weekly scale so any daily changes are not likely to be a supply factor.

that counter is a joke, we DON'T get realtime sales data, other than that the 360 numbers are way off, according to NPD 360 sold around 3M units till october in US, in japan they're in the 170K-180K figures an in europe are selling 3-4 times less than US, there are other things too, we know that PS3 is sold out, yet counter still registers more sales.
I First saw that counter on friday, at that time it was for 360 6.900.000 , 4 days later and it says 7.173.000, WOW according to this counter MS has managed to sell in 4 days more 360's that they sold in a whole month in US.

yeah, I think they said they'll have a million Revs by the end of the year. I don't think there is any production problems with Rev. I still don't understand why it took so long to come out...
as for the around half a million people figure I gave, yes, I wasn't following up on the shortages. is more like a quarter of a million people. in any case, the figure is as many units as they could release.
