Give it a few more years, but more adn more compies are making the jump to a linux platform. This will, not probably..will, eventually push microsoft out of the number one spot for the world's top operating system.
The only problem with this? As linux becomes more popular, virus writer and hackers will turn thier attention to Lniuz based systems. As of current, why as a virus writer or hacker, would you release a Lniux or machintosh virus if 90% of the world runs a windows based PC? If everything switches over to a linux open sounce OS, virus writter and hackers will have access to the souce code that was used to create the system. This was the one thing microsoft refused to share, being its source code for its OS. There is a bright note however, being that more people have access onto how thier operating system was crafted, it will be eaiser for secuitry fixes to be made becuase the entire world can find the problems, and the eintire world can attempt to fix them. This si a big change from microsoft, which has a team of 1000 or so people (If that) that make the software corrections (some of the time).
