This is supposed to be a long rant with valid points and such, but I have to be awake at 9:00 AM and it is currently 4:13 AM, so I'll make it short.

I am very much disappointed with the "next generation" consoles. None of them seem interesting or next generation for that matter.

As it is, the only console game I want is Assassin's Creed.

Anyway, I guess I shall stick to the PC.

Goodnight.

Step 1) Bust out Wii Sports
Step 2) Invite three friends over
Step 3) Enjoy!

You might want to add alchohol into the mix if your that type of person, but be careful, because thats how limbs are lost.

That's also how homosexuality starts....

Unless you have a girl friend but no girl is going to agree to come when you say "hey you wanna come around to play with my Wii......I just got it!"

so your too stupid to go and pick up a game that came out anytime after 20 years ago? the games have changed completely and to say they havent is blasphemous. you deserve to be lined up against a wall and anally raped.

I nominate eman as the rapist.

they're all pretty much graphics updates, motion sensativity isn't new and neither is the remote for the Wii, i can understand how someone could say they just seem like graphics updates

What exactly were you hoping for from next gen?

I don't see the diffrence between Ultima 5 15 years or so ago and Oblivion today aside from the graphics.

And Zelda being played with a remote is also much different from Zelda being played with a controller? Not really.

And Noah, to answer your question, I don't know what impresses me in games. I guess it is the immersion....

Don't hate the consoles, hate the game.

(Bwahaha. Maybe.)

But seriously, the games make the consoles... so what about games this generation has got you disappointed? 360 is really the only console so far that has had the opportunity to show a range of games rather than only its launch titles. I say sit for a while and see what games turn up over time and then check and see if you're still disappointed.

the wii remote is nice. But its simply a mouse and keyboard . Just that the wii remote is used for 2d controls in a 3d plane and the mouse is used on a 2d plane for 2d controls . The end result is largely the same

I've played the 360 and the Wii.

Seeing as I've not heard otherwise, I'm figuring the Playstation 3 is not that great of an update.

Immersion will come, it just depends on software to do that. Though one of the most immersive games i played last gen (Breakdown) didnt really have good sales. Same thing for Shenmue aswell. You shoould be dissapointed in gamers for not supporting the games you do love.

I'm sure you will find alot of immersive games in the future, just that the systems haven't really been out that long.

Despite my apparent console hating, I must say that my favourite game has to be Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic sur le Xbox.

I have to say the Wii is the first time I've had significantly more fun with than playing PC games.

I'd like to say the greatest gaming experiences I've had have been with Star War: KotOR, Baldur's Gate I & II, Black & White (the first), Jade Empire, Age of Empires I & II and the Warcraft series.

Strangely enough, I've only beaten two of these games without cheating to quickly reach the end.

Yeah, you're a PC gamer. Follow your bliss, consoles maybe aren't for you.

"cock or ball?" is the best game ever.

seriously, there were like 5 of us stranded in Wigan last night, and that kept us entertained for hours.

you don't even need a games console!

I've read a few threads like this before and the best suggestion IMO is that you should try a greater variety of games. So maybe try and pick up a particular game or genre that you haven't played before. I think that the music genre would be a good place to start. Or you could head down to the arcade, theres usually a good variety of non generic games there.

try Mass Effect when it comes out or pray for Bioware to make KOTOR 3 or Jade Empire 2

Okay, gljvd:

Upgrade your computer.

Buy Half Life 2.

Come back to this thread.

Now, as for Mr. Maximilian up there...

I'm more disappointed in YOU. *nods* yup, I am.

I want you to tell me what's missing in these next-gen consoles? Not a big leap? Bah! Wait until you see MGS4 in person, Heavenly Sword in person, The Darkness in person, you just wait. I promise you will change your mind.

Once you seen all three aformentioned games, you're getting a PS3.
