The creators of YDL OS for PS3 (among other platforms) has asked the community to send an email to Adobe in order to allow the use of Flash media within our web browsers in the PS3.
Your email should say the following:
This is a: Feature Request
Product name: Flash
Product Version: 9
Browser: FireFox
Web Server: Apache
App Server: Other
Database: MySQL
OS: Linux
OS version: YDL v5.0
Feature request: "Please make available the full suite
of Flash applications for Yellow Dog Linux v5.0 which
now supports the Sony PlayStation 3 --thank you!"
ALSO...try to encourage them to port other professional suites such as Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, bacically all of their major lines over for use within a PS3 / CELL environment. This will help pave the way for more products in the future and allow us to further utilize the CELL's resources for our own creative projects.
YOUR REQUEST(S) SHOULD BE SENT TO: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform

Actually, I couldnt find where to re-title the thread after clicking on the edit button. The spelling error was a direct copy off of their website...I caught it afterwords but didnt correct it. I might as well do it now incase ppl copy and paste in their requests...

I prefer Opera which is available on Linux so Opera it is for the browser category. :D
hmm. may I ask why you prefer Opera over FireFox? I presume you did try both (I didn't try the first ;p).

opera is far superior in almost every way except for widgets. I sound like a fanboy, but you know what? I prefer Firefox over opera. I just find it a better experience for me. Try it out tho Z

I've always been annoyed with no linux support for Flash and shockwave.

I have been pondering over Opera for a long, long time. there is absolutely no reason why I shouldn't have tried it and experienced it first hand for years.
that does it. *downloads and tries Opera*.
Dont let this thread fall into the depth of the abyss! Keep it up.

hmm. may I ask why you prefer Opera over FireFox? I presume you did try both (I didn't try the first ;p). I try out almost every browser created so that I could find the most stable solution. I was using Mozilla before switching over to Firefox. I have used to up to 1.02 and at home on 2000 Server, XP, 2003, and Linux (Debian).
On the *nix workstations at school, a number had 2.0 running and it didn't make me want to switch. Then again, I should try it at home since I have 3GB of DDR2-667 memory. ^_^
Other browers that I tried include Netscape (used it for a while), Maxthon, Beonex (based on Mozilla), some other IE-esque tabbed broswer that starts with a that I deleted recently, and Lynx for certain forums. ;)
I'm going to be trying out SkipStone 0.9.3 today. It's based on Mozilla but as long as it has greater ability. It's all good.

great. I am trying out Opera and so far I like it. it has a few great features like getting back taps you closed by mistake, voice commands, in-built bittorrent client, access locking features, etc.
though I still need to get used to the new interface a little. I am very in sync with FireFox recently.
some other IE-esque tabbed browser that starts with a that I deleted recently
could that be called Azurs or something like that? it is kind of like an IE extension that made IE have taps. I used it very briefly till I discovered FF.
speaking of IE, I have no interest at all trying out the new 7 version. maybe after people keep mentioning how good it is I'll give it a try. ;p

i tried 7 and found it awful, the tabs are huge and the UI is horrid to do even the simplest of tasks. takes like a million clicks to do just 1 thing.
