View Full Version : I feel humbled

I think E-mpire does a pretty good job accepting new members into the community.

The other day I visited a wrestling forum(name will remain anonymous) and I was posting thinking I was on a roll with posting then all of a sudden all 12 of my posts got neg repped and the comment was "stfu noob!" That kind of humbled me and made me feel more supportive of new members that join here.

Some forums can be pretty harsh towards new members without even knowing who they are before they attack them verbally. I was thinking to myself that if I caught some of those immature asses here at E-mpire I would ban them in a heartbeat.

Same here. On other large forums I've been to, people have ripped me apart almost immeadiately for disagreeing with anything established members say.

I asked a question in a forum once and got 50 replies in one second saying "omfg use the srach engsne faggot!!"

Granted, there was a thread about my question on the next page but that's still not an appropriate way to handle the situation.

Sometimes though I think this place can get a bit TOO nice :shifty:

That's just hostile little Internet kids...It's expected that outcasts of normal society will gang together and lash out at people in the comfort of the virtual world.

That's why you agree with everybody all the time, at least until you've been there for a year, or have over 2000 posts.

Then you can say whatever you want.

When I first joined XL I called zmaster a twat for supporting the cell-shaded Zelda. The reaction to that was quite funny.
I was once at a forum (quite some time ago) where me and a few others established a game in which we have to offend or scare of newlings as quick as possible. That was also quite funny.

But some forums are just full of wankers. The metal-archives' forum springs to mind.

What happened to zmaster? He was like Viper's son or something.

I was stupid when I first posted here. Still am, but with 2000+ posts.

Last I heard he made that forum with Al Man (Infinity) and disappeared.

I've never understood the idea of "veterans bash noobs lol pwn".

A good forum is a meritocracy.

Hey, it's all Onbake has in life so let him have it:-p

But in all seriousness I never really got it either. Let them be and say what they want. If they are an asshole, it shouldn't change how you treat them be they noob or vet. But hell that's they way things seem to be in most places.

Ive always wanted to make an e-Pirate crew from e-mpire members and find some forum and spam the living shit out of the place. Like, if 20 of us went there and started paying everyone out, it would turn into an all out war. I would laugh, then get bored.

Anyway, being immature can be fun, but on the internet its all over the damn place so fuck that.

It's love. And E-mpire has more than enough to go around.

Eh, I felt like I'm wasn't a member anymore here.. but for the first year or two it was great. It's not that easy to break into forums and become a regular, I was for a while here and it was easy.

Didn't I tell you weren't that important to the community, which lead to you getting mad?

If I got mad, it probably wasn't legit. I don't think I felt any realy anger, more just "waaaa"-ness. And I usually showed that by not coming back and just readinng the forum

Eh. Doesn't matter to me.

In a forum a long time ago, I got into an argument with a well known member.

... I was banned.
