Isn't Joystiq extremely anti PS3?

Terrible artical. Makes it seem like Blu-ray is a failure just because the game might not take up the full 22gigs they said. And they blame it on Sony instead of Insomniac.

ps2 games do this same thing... dummy files for copy protection reasons.

-edit-
read the rtcile. maybe it's for improved read times (on ps2). but the article as far as bluray goes is bullshit. nothing to back it up. gossip basically.

The article is totally flawed, the whole game takes up 17.53GB (18,827,837,440 bytes) Insomniac mentioned it was over 22GB when it was running on 1080p, now they reduced it to 720p and it takes less space.
They jumped the gun too quickly on the neogaf thread: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=130883

Man PS3 haters love to go around the net trying to find anything that can possibly be perceived as negative just to turn around and post it on discussion boards all the while sugar coating their real intentions.

Not necessarily you Raptor but I have just noticed a lot of times where fans of other systems only post negative articles about the PS3 then act like 'what who me?'....and if there is a positive article they don't even address it.

I mean seriously do you really care if it is not 22 GB of hard game data? Will you lose sleep over it? Do you not care more about the Wii anyways? I just don't get it. I know Sony is on top but does the haters really want to see it fall that hard?

Next generation games will need more storage so why is it a bad thing if Sony included new technology in the PS3 especially if it's fans love having it. It was just announced that Blue Odyessy or whatever for the 360 will ship in 3 discs so that should let people know there is a strong case FOR Bluray so who cares if Resistance was a little short of 22 GB of hard game data? I'm sure the Wii doesn't need that much storage but it has more to do with the quality of the games than anything else.

It seems the only people who complain about the PS3 price point and Bluray and the delay's are fans of the 360 and Wii...I mean what do you care anyways especially if us fans don't? I guess it makes them feel better by bashing Sony in hopes of justifing their own systems.

Patience my fellow Sony followers!

Let a year pass and all this "useless" technology in the PS3 will prevail.
It's okay to not care about them now but once devs are able to make 1080p60FPS games, everyone will go "durrr...how did they do that?" and that's when Sony will smile and say "Blu-Ray and The Cell my friend".

All this crap negative news about the Sony got WAY old anyway. Only the extreme Xbot nerds care about them.

I own a PS3 and I personally dont think that Blu-ray was needed in gaming. Of course I'd love to be proven wrong come MGS4 and FFXIII's release. But for now I dont really see it's major necessary thing in gaming. Sure having three discs seems like a pain I guess, but Im not a Sony hater and that's my opinion on the whole Blu-ray thing.

BTW: I own Resistance and could care less how much space it takes up, online its a very fun game and I have a great time playing it.

Well, at the moment, I wouldn't say that Blu-Ray is needed for gaming. But with the way things are going, it's so very obvious that it will indeed be needed so Sony's inclusion of it is not in vain and this will become very apparent in the future. Mark my word.

We should do like gaf and ban the word "joystiq".

This has been proven false....and this is a new low for joystiq. My god, these people actually call themselves journalist.....:locked:

Well, one game that is about to release in japan for another console and already fills 3 dvds, not 2 but 3. So I wouldn't say blu-ray is not needed this gen.

I think these people call themselves bloggers as opposed to journalists. That bit of semantics apparently gives them free license to fan the flames of tardboy bickering with no remorse. I had to stop reading that site due to overwhelming nausea.

They never said it was true...in fact it said "It is possible that the data isn't fully true..." and they even edited it later to confirm its false...calm yourselves.
