Per a great suggestion by Filibuster, I'll start a PSInext RFOM clan today if no one has done so yet. I'll name the clan nothing other than PSInext (unless anyone has a more creative suggestion). I'll I need is the names of anyone who wants an invite. Happy Hunting!

Considering when I'm probably getting a PS3, either in late Dec. or spring, or latest in summer 07, I'm not sure I'll be getting Res... :(.

If I get it in Dec. the only game I will probably have will be NBA 2K7 lol.

I'm waiting on a SOCOM, Killzone or MGS clan haha. Whenever will we here more on those, especially SOCOM and Killzone.

Hopefully I can get my hands on Res. also though! I consistently hear amazing things about the multiplayer.

Just a question though, how many of you guys are into heavy team based playing? Because I'd be even more interested in getting RFOM if you guys are really competitive and team players.

Errr I'm not gonna say if I am older, younger, or that age, but since you think it's cool, yes, I am 42 years old :dur: hahaha.

Ok, anyways, I'm not good at keeping stuff in... I am not near 42 years old lol. If you look at my birth date, and the country which I live in, you would find a very unlikely coincidence (hint, that's not my birth date haha, it's rather something's birthday lol).

I still go to university, you can guess my age from that lol.

When I am 42 though, and have a typical middle aged life with typical midlife crises, you can bet I'd still make time for PSINext lol, even though it'd be about ten times harder than it is now. But, I guess that's why they give you internet in work places lol!

Yeah, I kinda suck too. The other day I came in second in a game of conversion by hiding and sniping and I got an invite to a clan by the guy who came in first. I accepted him as a friend, but I'm sure he didn't know I was only a mediocre player. I started a new game before I could respond to his clan invite. He was in that new game, too, and I finished dead last. I'm sure he was relieved I didn't join his clan...

Flop, how come we don't have [PSI] tags. I just noticed that the clan places them there and its not part of our online name. Is that an option you have?

Well I knew that peoples PSN names had the PSI if they chose, but in RES you see kids with tags and then names, and then when they text chat or anything only the name shows up, not the tag. I think you can create a tag for your clan and it will show up next to everyones name.

I believe you can set that up for youself as a per-person preference. I'll look into setting it up for the clan. If you would like an invite pls PM me. It's easier for me to keep track if the names aren't getting lost in the pages of a thread.

I just got Resistance today and got few the first few levels. I'm not usually into FPS's, but Resistance has really impressed me so far. The levels are very well designed and there are loads of nice touches like when you shoot glass and those spherical bombs that are stored on racks and bounce all over the place when you set them off.. The graphics are much nicer than I expected and I've just got to the level where there's loads of alien tubes with bodies floating inside them and it looks spectacular.

Anyway I'll be up for some multiplayer in a few days once I've spent a bit more time in single player.

If you're pointblank with the shotty use L1 double-barrel instead of regular shot R1. I find that I can be very inconsistent with the bullseye, sometimes I can tag people on the first shot and can do that to three people in a row but then sometimes I keep tagging and missing.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v500/EvilTaru/Indifferent2.gif

earlier today i was on and me and xdestroya created a aprty and were gonna game, but it wouldn't connect to a game and when it finally did x wasn't there. connected dropped i think. but i swear there has to be a way for people to cheat on this game, cause i saw a slaughter like i have never seen before. it was a meltdown in the stage with all the suspended walkways, the field, and the drainage canal thing,forget the anme, but there's like 8 spots the meltdown things are in. and i swear it wasn't 2 minutes the other team had captured all of em and were attacking our last one next to our base. and even with all of us spawning right next to it we were just slaughtered. same deal the next round, just complete domination, and it wasn't even a team of all one clan or anything, buncha different guys. i dunno how they did it.

At one point, I was watching my bro play a game of Conversion. There were like 8 people and he was able to place about 4th. After you die twice your able to see what the other players are doing, and we spoted this guy by the name of Detective Dan killing off players from underneath the level, how he did it... is up for guesses. The way people cheat/hack. It was the stage covered in snow, with a blue overtone, and its was small for like 8 or 16 people.

Anyone else have any stories to tell.

True, I was playing earlier and there was this one guy that me and two others were shooting at while he was trying to destroy a node in meltdown. We shot him for about 10 secs and then he ran off and I through a grenade and seen the guy flip but a second later I see him running off after that I just quit the game.

Why does it always seem like there is cheating more often in console games than PC games? It seems harder to control on the console platform for whatever reasons, maybe like people aren't watching over the servers often enough or as much or something. I'm guessing it's easier for cheaters to cheat in console online arenas.

nope, I still have the Dial-up curse. I just made a pack with the devil to give me a one access to 265k internet (if you can eve call that broadband...cheap shit devil! is my soul that cheap?!)

I dont think there are cheaters on RFOM i think there are occasional glitches that make you invincible for 1 game! a few days ago i was shooting one guy and noticed he did not drop. he turned his guns on me and then i noticed i was not taking damage! we both expended all our ammo and nades. we where both invincible untill the round ended. that was the first and last time that happend.

There are some really dedicated clans out there, even neogaf got pwn3d against a few guys from WAR the other night, who were more disciplined in executing their strategy. If you're playing breach, sometimes a successful rush can end the round in a couple of minutes if you get a bunch of guys into the other people's base and one of them has an arc charger. I believe the level you were describing is called The Mall.

Perhaps he had an auger which would have allowed him shoot through the floor? If he was a chimera he could have simply see everybody from underneath, it's actually not a bad strategy.

unrelated but i had to comment on the most pathetic player i've ever seen on RFOM. playing somerset freeal for all dm, he camps out where the lark is int he center of the stage, in all the weeds, sittting in a corner with a shotgun somewhere and since he doesn't move doesn't show up on radar. i heard him under there flipping through his weapons over and over, i guess to lure people in, and got blasted. so i kept going back but maybe he's crouched in the weeds or something, enver could see him. kept getting killed. he'd only come out with the laark spawns then he'd go right back. naturally he won the match. i msged him after the matfch and told him he plays like a panzy. i hate people that camp over the laarks. if i'm nearby i'll go grab it, but i don't camp over it... if it's not there i move on...

Kinda reminds me of the early Everquest days when people would deliberately use the "Print Screen" button to induce lag and disappear for a few seconds, only to reappear 30 yards away.

If you jump at the brick wall in a certain places in somerset you can reach a wide open flat area where you can travel without penalty all the way around the level.

I'm not sure about the hangar level but in the somerset level you can jump up on the brick wall and make your way across the entire level and snipe people from "out of bounds" area.

there's a bug on the rooftops stage too cause i found some dickhead hiding in a corner that's wired off. back in a corner on one of the streets on the far side of the map, there's wire and a buncha rubble back there. i saw him there and was shooting at him so he moved on back into the rubble and after i launched grenades back there he finally came running back out towards me and i finished him off. no idea how he got there tho.

So far I have seen several "glitches" in the multiplayer games.

The one mentioned in previous posts in the Rooftops level where you can get behind the barbwire fence.

There is one in Manchester (40 player) where you can sit against the church wall.

In Lexington there are at least two, one where you can get into the "Captains Chamber" and snipe from atop the boat. And another where you can get up behind the dumpsters for a higher sniping vantage point.

I would like to play with the PSI Next clan. I never got an invite, even though I asked for one. But now that I have my own small clan, I would still be willing to join a party with you guys and play. Anyone wanting to play with me send me a buddy invite and identify yourself as PSI Next (PSN/Resistance name: dendj55).

I just played with a headset for the first time last night = very fun. Suddenly I'm paying attention to who I kill and who has mics. I didn't even know any of the players, but the community features are great. It didn't feel like I was playing against robots anymore. Res is a great game.

@Z: Yeah, freaking Snoits at 84 million. The thing is, I'm pretty close to getting about 40 million, which should put me in the top 5. Your score essentially doubles when you beat a specimen without dying (assuming you haven't died at all before). When I got 24 million I didn't die through 4 specimens. If I can just make it through specimen 5 without dying I'll have that much and about 15 lives to get 4 or 5 more million before beating the game. Maybe I'll make a go of it today after I finish writing a draft of this short story I'm working on.

My wife is getting better at BF, too. Maybe we'll go for number 1 in the co-op instead...

I need help trying to get online with resistance. I load the game, go into multiplayer, then on the screen where it is suppossed to show the servers, only the resistance star logo is seen on the back like loading the screen, but it never loads, then shows up a message that says that there was an error and that the servers list cant be loaded.

this is the exact error i get:

"Error en la conexion de red. Desconectandose de la red."

In english, it is "Error in the network connection. Login out from the net" or something like that.

I really want to play online, so any kind of help will be greatly apreciated.
