Cool, have you noticed much difference between the last firmware upgrade? Any bug fixes taken care of now?

Also do you have a Hong Kong PS3? If so what region of Bluray movies does it play?

PS3 Firmware Update 1.11 Now Available (http://ps3.ign.com/articles/747/747802p1.html)
Minor security tweaks and features added
by Andrew Alfonso

November 28, 2006 - If you're one of those lucky people who actually have a PS3 in their possession, be prepared for a new firmware update that's going to affect all systems starting today. The update is v1.11 and it features an Account Management System Icon to your friends list. The feature itself was already present in previous firmware versions, but this time they just made it easier to access.

However, there is speculation among PS3 users that the updated fixed something else, since the browser seems to load pages faster, and the actual download itself takes more than a minute to download. We've heard of reports of up to 10 minutes for the entire update to fully download, and we experienced a 5 minute wait ourselves. Unfortunately the only documented change was the AMS, so we'll have to take Sony's word on it for now.

The only new thing I noticed was 'Account Management' which was grouped over with the friend list.

There's also a new PSP firmware update, but it only list security as the new feature... I'm not sure if this is related to the PS3 update, but since they were both released at the same time it's plausible.

No, the PSP 3.01 fixed an error with the Joan d. Arc UMD. The 3.00 PSP's crashed when treying to open it. It also fixed a few other problems, but nothing major. All in all, only 3 files were edited.

Hopefully they'll address the issue of not being able to access the XMB AT ALL while in a game. e.g. receiving a message from one of my PSINext buds and haing to quiot the game to check it. grrrr.

I just hope to be able to use the XMB at any point, no matter what I'm doing. (This includes Web browsing and music/video watching) Speaking of which, is it so much to ask for the XMB to hold my songs place whenever I go to the Playstation Store or change my settings? thxkbye

So it took them two weeks. Should we be expecting two more weeks before another update, or will they do a general update on the 4th when Flow comes out?

I think its great that we are seeing fast updates and fixes. hopefully, it on't be long till they get to allowing some of the user demanded features like background downloading and free XMB access.

updates aren't scheduled to specific dates. they are released when ever Sony makes them. PSP just got a firmware update, and a little over 24 hours it got another one.

is the issue of downloading a game demo and being able to do something else at the same time fixed.

Firmware upgrades are a little different. What you may want at that very moment may not always be granted to you as demanded. The system's defects, new added features, and security patches are gradually ironed out a little bit at a time. Since we don't know when the next update is, which can come at any time, we won't know exactly when this issue will be resolved. Eventually, though, this problem will be resolved.
