Sony and Nissan teamed up to make a promotional video of the Skyline GT-R with the engine from Gran Turismo HD. This isn’t gameplay footage, it’s a demo of what the Gran Turismo engine can do, but the footage looks sweet.

As always with Polyphony, it “looks” nice.
It’s a bit predictable that the game is using the Skyline as a promo though. Considering how many damn Skyline versions are in the game, they mind as well use them.

I'm afraid that video isn't all that interesting. They just use GT4 assets. GTHD Classic, not Premium.

Thx for the HD version VG :)
These cars look as if you're just walking the street, and those people actually look as if you would go talk to them.

I was about to say, the cars look good but the backgrounds are shit. The guard rails look paper thin and the grass is as flat as the pavement.

The Nissan video is nothing more as GT4 in HD, its just GTHD Classic dont expect to much.
Btw. i like Skylines but i hope they make more other Nissans in GTHD too, lol.

Have we been seeing both versions of GTHD? Or have the vids and pics we've been seeing been just from this version? I didn't know there was two versions really lol.

Viano come on man lol. Killing Moon is a sensible person, he just is more critical of GT because for his own reasons he just sees the faults in GT bigger than we do. They are there, but for him they are more glaring, no biggie.
I'm sure if they bring some of that stuff that Killing Moon is expecting, I'm sure he'll give it praise when he feels GT deserves it.
Anyways, I can't wait to see Gran Turismo [5] now lol. I want PS3 cars with PS3 backdrops, the way it should be lol. At least GT HD gave us sneaks at the sexalicous car models.
if the guy honestly wanted to know why we are excited about this news, he could have asked normally and directly. but he only wanted to take it out on someone. and for whatever reason, he chose a gaming announcement to do it in. sad.
in any case, I might be stating the obvious here, but just in case a guest or visitor finds our reaction rather contradictory to this news allow me to explain in brief:
we have always been very excited about GTHD (the prolouge to PS3's coming hit, not the PS2 touch-up) just for that: it's the early works of the inevitable megaton known as GT5.
we are more excited about the news of the cancellation of the physical platform of the game for three reasons:
1- it is now going to be offered free. although GTHD was going to be offered for a dirt-cheap price point, 'free' is still less. now we won't have to pay a dime for it.
2- now they can focus more on what all this is about, which is the full fledged GT5.
3- more gamers will have access to it. just open a free Japanese account and you can be sitting there playing it this month. the same goes for the rest of the world regardless of where the game is 'officially' released for download. some may say that they could have ordered it online, but that would get in the way of the first point which is price. why pay for what you can get for free? that and not many people order oversees.
finally, even IF the whole preview concept work is canceled, we would still be interested in every trickle of news and every new pic that we can grab since this is, again, the work in progress of what will inevitably be GT5.
this is no different from following every piece of news on MGS4, FF13 or others till the full games get released respectively.
GTHD or no GTHD: it is all about teasers and long waits till the real deal gets here.
PS. we need to merge all the GT threads.

Believe me, I actually WANT to be wrong on this.
I'd much rather be wrong with an excellent game that's actually improved and corrected on its flaws and mistakes, than to be right (again) with a slip shod $60 paper weight.

I miss the pics where the driver is outside of the car. I was looking at the official GT site (http://www.gran-turismo.com/jp/sp/d376.html) and they are gone.
I have that feeling that there was a feature planned for GTHD wich is cancelled in the consept version, a driver change in endurance racings. Maybe we see this in GT5..
What are you guys thinking?

^Hmmmm maybe. I think we need to wait for more info on GT5 thouigh, it's hard to say what kind of additions they will make. Who knows, that'd be pretty cool though.
How much do we know on GT5 though? I think the only information we have is how sexy the Lancer Evo and Elise look lol.
