View Full Version : Do you ever go back to your old games?
I gotta nice big collection of GameCube games and I have many that I've only completed once and have never gone back to ever again. I CAN'T BELIEVE I'VE ONLY COMPLETED LOZ:WW ONCE!! And I've never gone back to play it again (I do plan on going back to it soon though). And this is the case for many of my games. Does this ever happen to you? Or do you give all your games alot of attention?

I do and I dont. Some games I go back and keep playing for the sheer fun of it, while others I just kinda pass on as I get new games. I am shocked to say but I never finished Metroid Prime. :( I picked up another game, and started playing that, and then another game after that, and so on and so forth. Now dont get me wrong, there are lots and lots of games I go back to complete. But its so hard to devide my time up between my GC, wife, kids, PS2, and Xbox (other systems I have need not apply) Oh and yes they are all in order of importance...LMAO!

I don't go back to most of them, anymore. Once upon a time, back in the NES and SNES days, it wouldn't be at all unusual for me to replay my games multiple times. However, few N64 and GCN games have I played more than once. It isn't that they aren't great, but perhaps more of a matter of time being so limited, anymore.
I did play through Eternal Darkness thrice, and I played through Wind Waker and Gauntlet twice. Other than that, though, I can't think of any GCN games that I've revisited.

When friends come over...
Super Smash Bros Melle, Super Monkey Balls, Soul Calibur 2, Fzero, etc...
Multiplayer games seem the be the only ones though. With the exception of Sphinx.

I go back to my old games(that I haven't already sold) when friends come over. Like MKDD, and it was 007 Nightfire but I don't got it anymore. Conflict Desert Storm I have not played for a while. Such a good multiplayer mode, still have to beat the hardest difficulty.
I just sell my old games that are not getting played before they completely lose there value.

I barely have time to play the new games. I still haven't fully beaten:
Mario Sunshine (3 more shines!),
Metroid Prime (At the last boss),
Metal Arms,
Beyond Good & Evil,
Mario Golf,
Ikaruga (Still haven't beat level 4),
F-Zero (So freaking hard in master mode),
Viewtiful Joe (Need to unlock everyone but Silvia),
Zelda Bonus Disc Oot (At Ganons Castle),
Zelda Bonus Disc 2, (Need to play and beat MM, LoZ, LoZ2),
Eternal Darkness (Need to beat it twice more),
Super Monkey Ball (Expert mode = negative),
Super Smash Bros. Melee (Need to beat event 50 and 51)
That's all I can think of but I think there are some others kickin around. I need to quit my job so I can just play videogames all day.

Once I beat a game, I never play it again its just to boring. In the Nintendo 64 days I would always play my games again(Mario 64, Donkey Kong 64, OOT, Mario kart, Diddy Kong Racing).

i beat that one. I loved wave race, even though i sold it. Just like 1080, it gave me a sense that I was really there. That is a game you cant play with a wavebird, because you need the ble for the experience.
I have always wanted to try and beat Mario Sunshine, Metroid Prime, and Zelda again... but I just dont have time, or I get a new game. They dont catch my interest like they did the first time, so I never get around to it. I am trying Metroid Prime again though. Hopefully I can accomplish it.

It really depends on the game.
For more involved "epic" games, like Zeldas, Final Fantasies, etc., it usually takes a couple years between playthroughs for me to have the desire to play it again.
Shorter games, like older Mega Man and older Marios, where you could complete the game in an afternoon, I tend to replay quite a bit, atleast compared to longer games.
Some games, mostly from the sports, puzzles, and fighting genre, I play whenever I get the urge to play it, mostly because I know that I don't really have to invest much time into it.
