My boyfriend and I have made it a habit to go both EB and Gamestop multiple times a week and buy stuff almost every time.
Today's trip involved him buying Metal Slug Anthology for Wii at Gamestop.
Then popping over to EB where I was unforunately told of a buy 2 get 1 free deal on used crap that ended in us splitting the costs of Team America World Police on DVD, Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle on DVD, Dark Crystal on DVD, 2 copies of Guilty Gear for DS, Maverick Hunter X for PSP, Valkyrie Profile Lenneth for PSP, Resident Evil 3 for GCN, and Mario & Luigi Partners in Time for DS.
I think we are both going to go broke at this rate. We didn't even plan on buying anything beyond Metal Slug.
The guy working at Gamestop just told me I could take the next copy of Game Informer for free, too, and I didn't argue.

I rent now, but I have a shit load of games I need to play, but a lot of games you purchased were well worth the purchase. I spend money I don't have constantly on stupid shit partly because of my girlfriend and partly because I can't say no to her. I'm an idiot I know.

cheapassgmaer.com is helpful if you would like to save some money. Gamestop usually does that buy 2 get 1 free on used games/dvds once a month.

I think if you buy games and enjoy them to the fullest... That's fine. They're probably a lot better value than buying movies on DVD/Blu Ray. What worries me is people who buy tons of games and only play them an hour at most. They do exist. That's a terrible waste of money
Just addicted to new smell.
Stopping reading forums is a great way to save money, then you don't have feel you have to buy the latest game to stay with the in crowd, and can follow your own gaming interests, which is usually a lot cheaper.

Were you refering to me buy chance?
I think after I finish Finaly Fantasy XII I'll probably do Gods of War, then Radiata Stories, and when I get bored start Disgaea 2, but I should probably go back to playing the first one...when I got distracted with Tekken on PSP... That is one thing the next generation has done for me, less killer apes so I can catch up on the ones I own.

Actually I was referring to a guy on Opa Age who buys games and plays them for an hour and a half. Not you sir.

I've been doing things like that too lately. On top of all the Wii stuff I bought, I also spent $170 on a dozen SNES games a guy was getting rid of, $30 on a second-hand copy of Beyond Good & Evil for Cube (never seen it anywhere before, so I had no choice but to grab it :P) and then a new GCN memory card so that I can save it (only had 31 spare, and the damn thing takes 55!) so that was anothr $50 gone - it was damn hard to find too, everyone's taken all their Cube stuff off their shelves even though I KNOW they had it just days before. Then I also spent another $12 on Super Mario Bros. DVD box set, again merely for the sake of having seen it there and thinking "Hey, I want that even if I'm not going to watch them!" And the fact it was cheap didn't help >_>
WHAT DO WE DO, LUCENT???

^Haha, thats exactly what i do. I wouldve bought BG&E too if i saw it for cube. I didnt think it came out on GC in Australia...
On a recent note, when I got my Wii at launch I got Zelda and Monkey Ball. I still have only played Monkey Ball for aout an hour. However, I just bought Red Steel and Rayman. (Sure, theyre christmas presents, one even for me). I finish my job soon, so I cant wait to sit down and get into some good Wii gaming!

I buy everything in the world and never have time to play but oh well. I own them and that's all the matters.

You have to change your mentality from "Buy to own" to "buy to play". After all that is why you are owning them, to play them. It's like you are putting gas in your car just to walk home from the patrol station.
Sometimes I feel guilty to buy another game if there is an unfinished one around.
i usually trade in games, i currently have 8 games

You can't have it to play if you already own it.
Say I lost my job and couldn't buy anything more.. I have a slew of games to keep me happy. Planning ahead, that's all I'm doing.

Yah but the hours the games will take to play will be massive and make up for it in the long run

Heheh, it's an investment.
I can't talk, look what I just preordered 10 games to come in a big fedex box in January. Some very groovy stuff though. But 500 US bucks worth. Eeek!
But fine, fine games...
WarioWare: Smooth Moves,Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops,Elite Beat Agents,Metal Slug Anthology PSP ,Final Fantasy III DS, Mario vs Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis ,Killzone Liberation,Rogue Galaxy, Lost Planet.
And a couple of trashy games I may cancel.
And another box coming in February, and another in March. Then nothing till September though.

You own all the consoles in the universe man, something WILL come, no doubt.

Hahaha, I like your reasoning!
I just bought Battalion Wars and Viewtiful Joe DS for $25 each yesterday. I was going to buy a set of 4 wavebirds too, but the ****ers at Toys R Us are still selling them for $50 each, and the arseholes at JB have them at $65. Neither would budge on price unless I could point them to somewhere else that has them in stock for cheaper. Which no one does, since they've either already sold them or have just dumped them because Wii was coming out. I hate them all.

I always buy games even if i dont need them. It's like I have this fixation with collecting as many games as I possibly can. I even have duplicates of some games.

Ahh, but probably nothing as good as what I already have. All kicks off September. GTA4, MGS4, Halo 3, Heavenly Sword, Assasin's Creed, Mario Galaxy, Devil May Cry 4, Ninjs Gaiden Sigma, Blue Dragon...... NICE!
Gotta save that cash.

I'm still Wii-less. The last game or game-related item I bought was the Wii version of Twilight Princess just to make sure I at least got one half of the Zelda playing experience.
Besides that though, the last thing I bought was either Resident Evil 4 or Sonic Gems Collection...two years ago.

I'd be willing to wager that half of my 76 Gamecube game collection was bought in 2006.
Then again, I got most of the games between 10 to 20 dollars cause I buy a lot of used games.
