Walmart has a 37'' Emerson LCD that looks really nice. Read alot of user reviews and they say its a damn good TV. and its only 800$. Has component, HDMI, and I think DVI. no VGA though.

costco has a no name one for 600$ 32inch i believe it does 720p its not bad for the price.

However you all might want to wait for the superbowl as prices should drop like a rock the day after .

I'm looking to get a 27inch lcd to replace my ancient thosiba

I went to best buys website yesterday looking and they are all still rapetacular prices. I don't like best buys "we are actually the worst buy" motto.

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5031323

This is the best price I have found on that TV and it is one of the best (non 1080p).

Take a look at the Westinghouse 37" 1080p set at $1,199.99 CDN:

http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0926INGFS10077376&catid=23244

Better sets with much higher frame rate, contrast ratio and better display in general would be the Sharp Aquos.

The 32" D6 series with 1080p, 6ms response rate, 2000:1 contrast ratio (or 10:000 dynamic) @ $1599.99 CDN. If you want high quality this is definitely the set for you.
