BTW: Colorado had an blizzard and my mom called to tell me I shoould open up my christmas present since school is closed for the rest of the week.

Well, at least you will be good to go when the good games start coming, Moterstorm, Heavenly Sword, LAIR, and other really good ones that aren't coming to me now could all be ready early next year.

I just beat FFXII, loved every second of it, and I'm gonna restart it tommarow using this (http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/file/final_fantasy_xii_class_challenge.txt) as a guide.

I say grab the Moterstorm demo and see how you like it.

Do you think they'll fix the PS3 video problem. I'd love to get rid of my ps2, however currently I find myself playing on my PS2 since the games look better. I have an HD 1080p TV that might make the difference.

Try with component output.
And yeah, they'll fix this problem, especially when the PS2 emulator is complete.

Yep, my PS3 (60GB) arrived yesterday. :-) But it gets wrapped up in pretty paper and put under the Christmas tree along with the extra controller, RFoM, RR7, Madden 07 (for the wife), Tiger Woods 07, and Full Auto 2. My home theatre is all ready to go, the HDMI cable is sitting there ready, the component cable is there, the optical audio cable is there, the gigabit ethernet cable is there. I just have to plug it in and play. This gets added to the Wii, component cable, and Wii games that are already sitting there.

Good news everybody!

Mom said the other big box has a game that "I use to play and it is the new version." (maybe I opened the wrong box) If the family wasn't coming over for Christmas Eve, I might have opened it. It's in a big box to, she said this one would be better to open with the family around. It's about the same weight, maybe a bit lighter. Deffinatly heavier than just a game like the last box. However I don't want to give my hopes up.

Can this be a Next Gen Christmas?

We had a talk on the phone today if I have been keeping entertained with the PS3, I told her that I love the present but hate first person shooters. She said that she got those games cause the clerk said they were the best for the system. I still haven't opened the games since I don't like FPS shooters. She did say that the other box had a game that I use to play all the time in it, plus she thinks the familly will like that one more when we get together. (Makes me wonder what it is, she said she spenta lot on me this year, but she couldn't resist since she forgot my birthday and I nevermentioned it tell she asked a month later)

That's the thing. Looking at the list of games available on both consoles the only thing that jumps out to me is Super Monkey Balls (which my mom would play at family gatherings) and Sonic the Hedgehog. Though Legend of Zelda is a possibility...but I was more addicted to the others. Though I hope a clerk would tell her the new Sonic is terrible. I think I gave my hopes up. :-P

Note: It could possibly be a laptop! I was wanting one...She is to good at keeping things from wiggling around. Though I never played PC games, so that wouldn't make since.

Update: My uncle and aunt combined forces this year and got me something big as well. Apperently letting people miss my birthday had payed off. I'm sure remembering theirs a month later did not hurt.

I got a Xbox 360 (base model), hardrive, and the HD-DVD add on. - No games or extra controllers 3 HD-DVDs
PS3 60gb - Resistance and Call of Dutey 3 (2 controllers) 2 BR DVD's
Nintendo Wii - Super Monkey Balls, Twighlight Princess. 2 controls (wii-mote and numchuck)

Probably about another 200 worth of gift cards to various game stores.

Worth of noting: V on HD-dvd looks superior to X-men 3 on BR.

I was shocked with the 360 and hd-dvd drive. Apparently they bought it for $100 dollars on amazon.com PS3 was also a fluke that mom got from the company drawing. The Wii was what she had in mind all along.

Note: No laptop...however mother said she will get me one anyway with the programs I'll need for next semesters classes, so not all is lost.
