Interview with Tetsuya Nomura of Square Enix

At the present time, Tetsuya Nomura is working on Final Fantasy Versus XIII (PS3) and Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core (PSP). Nomura would like to bring games to the PlayStation 3 right now, he says, but unfortunately making games for the PS3 is more time consuming and it needs more preparation to code software for the PS3. For this reason the development of Final Fantasy Versus XIII is pacing slowly. According to Nomura this is however inevitable.

"Though year 2007 will be different, because Nomura calls the coming year: the year of "harvest". Five games will be released on the market in 2007. Nomura does not call the titles, but according to the official credit list of Square Enix he is working/has worked on the following titles: Kingdom Heart 2 Finally mix (PS2), Crisis core: Final Fantasy VII (PSP), Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children: Complete (Blu ray film) and Subarashiki Kono Sekai: It's Wonderful World (NDS). On all the four titles Nomura is involved with the development. All four games will be released in Japan 2007. The title of the fifth game and on which system it appears is still unclear, however it will be released in 2007.

Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII will probably not appear in 2007. Though next year he says, Final Fantasy Versus XIII gameplay/gamesystem will be showed for the first time.

Concerning the Nintendo Wii he is reflecting how he could use the controller in his games.

Too bad we will have to wait for 2008 to play Final Fantasy XIII and Versus XIII. Hope they will release some cool videos/info/pictures next year.

Yea it looks like PS3's really gonna have a great next few years. Maybe until PS4's release lol. Not to mention they'll be a boat load of new titles we haven't heard of yet that are probably make sure hits for the next few years.
