View Full Version : Games you've finished in 2007

The rules:
List the games you've finished, finishing is whatever you consider finishing, but not just "I've finished with this game", that would be bad. 100%, credits roll, that kinda thing.
Number them, so it's easier to total up at the end of the year.
Tell us what you think of them, if possible how long they took to finish.
List of the worst game you've finished this year, and the best.
Doesn't have to be games that came out this year, retro actively encouraged.
And finally, cheap tricks to keep the topic bumped, absolutely enouraged. :)
Winner gets repped to death at the end of the year. Last years winner was Koten: http://forums.e-mpire.com/showthread.php?t=58246
Gamepads at the ready gents and ladies, 3... 2.. 1... GO! :)

First up will be Trauma Centre (DS). Haven't got long to go, and I can't tear myself away from it. CBF doing the rest of that stuff you said, or keeping track of future completions :P

I have a big back catalog of games I plan to finish this year, so expect this to be updated a lot by me.
1. Star Wars Episode III DS: Fun little side scroller that's pretty damn challenging at some points. Anakin's story is a little harder (and more fun)
2. Yoshi's Island DS: Finished this one litteraly 10 minutes ago. Damn fun, but the last world is an absolute cheap whore in it's difficulty.

1 - Genji 2 - PS3
I actually really liked this, got a lot of undeserved abuse. About the best looking game I've played for a long, long time. About 15 hours to finish. Last boss was a biatch.
2 - Lost Planet - 360
Not too bad actually, except for a plot that makes zero sense, and Dhoulmagus from DQ8 seeming to pop up in the middle as a bad guy. Such a pity.... :) Very purdy too. Think about 12 hours.
3 - Final Fantasy 12 - PS2
Superb, nobody does jRPG like Square. Easily the best game I'll be playing for quite a while. Around 60 hours to finish. Game ran out before it became a drag, unlike DQ8. Superb. PS2 still can wow after 7 years.

1. Elite Beat Agents (DS)
Technically I beat the final song on the hardest difficulty last year, but I just recently got the best possible ranking on it... so yeah. It's a must-play for all DS owners.
2. Trauma Center: Second Opinion (Wii)
It's not quite as fun as it was on the DS, but there's a bunch of new missions, so it's kind of a trade-off as to which version's better. But they're both excellent games.

Shadow Of The Colossus only so far.
Great ending but not as good as Ico.
1) Gears of War on both Hardcore and Insane difficulties. All COG tags collected.
Hardcore wasn't all that bad, but was definitely a jump from Casual. Insane wasn't a big hassle except for a few parts, particularly RAAM. I had to get someone to play co-op with me in order to beat him...and we beat him unexpectedly (We were tossing grenades at him so he would flinch. That way, we could run to a safer area. Well, he didn't flinch for some time....5 grenades later, he died).
The COG tags were fun to collect, albeit too easy to find sometimes.
Overall: I wish the game had more story to it (more of a single-player campaign). I mean, I can speculate on stuff and at the end of the game, I bombed the bad guys but I never got the sense of "why" I did so. The Locust obviously aren't just bad guys who hate the humans. There's something more that just wasn't explained (unless you got the collector's edition, which I did not).
Multiplayer is still fun, despite a few flaws.
I'm currently working on Phantasy Star Universe (about 75% complete) and Lego Star Wars II (46% complete).
edit: just throwing this in for no particular reason. I played through on co-op on Casual. It took the two of us a good...3 hours to beat the game. Man, that game is a cakewalk on Casual.

1. Prey (X360)-Pretty good overall. It could have been WAY better though for a game being developed for 10 years. It DID make you so noxious after awhile from all the room flipping.
2. Gears of War (X360)-I beat it on Casual and I am now playing it on Hardcore then I'll move to Insane.
3. Doom 3: Limited Collector's Edition (Xbox)-One of the most annoying games I ever played yet it was really good! It was long as ever with like 30+ levels or something. They could have fleshed the story out a bit more though.

Adding to my list...
1. Condemned: Criminal Origins (X360)-Very scary game! This game made me jump and be on the edge every second I was playing it! The characters move and act freakishly realistic and the scary cult plot is deep and interesting.
Time Taken: I'd say about 8-9 hours on Normal
Score: 8.5/10
2. Prey (X360)-Pretty good overall. It could have been WAY better though for a game being developed for 10 years. It DID make you so noxious after awhile from all the room flipping.
Time Taken: About 6 hours on Normal
Score: 8/10
3. Gears of War (X360)-I beat it on Casual and I am now playing it on Hardcore then I'll move to Insane. Probably the best 3rd person shooter I ever played. You know the rest.
Time Taken: 5-6 on Casual
Score: 10/10
4. Doom 3: Limited Collector's Edition (Xbox)-One of the most annoying games I ever played yet it was really good! It was long as ever with like 30+ levels or something. They could have fleshed the story out a bit more though.
Time Taken: Too Long...about 6-7 hours maybe even 8
Score: 8/10
5. Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 (X360)-Ok so you can't really "beat" this game but I did play as Tina and spent the 15 days on Zack island blah blah blah you know the rest. VERY repetitive and the only thing this thing has going for it are the next gen graphics of bouncy boobs. Thank god I only rented this game because it's not even worth $60 maybe $20.
Time Taken: About 1 hour
Score: 6.5/10
1. Prey (360)
Completed it on both difficulties within a day. It's a decent enough game, but after completing it on both difficulties, there wasn't really any reason to play it again, so I took it back to the shop. If multiplayer wasn't rubbish I may have considered keeping it.
Time taken: Roughly 4 hours on each difficulty. Cherokee difficulty was disappointingly easy.
Score: 8/10
2. Rainbow Six: Vegas (360)
Played the demo of it just before Christmas. It's the first Rainbow Six game I've liked, so I got it a couple of days ago. Completed Normal difficulty, just trying to get through Realistic difficulty now.
Time taken: About 5 hours on Normal, haven't finished Realistic yet.
Score: 9/10
3. Gears of War (360)
Everybody has been nagging me to buy this, so I finally bought it on Friday. Played through the game on Casual the first time, just to get myself familiar with the game. I then decided to try it out on Insane mode. The idea was, if I was finding it too hard on that, I'd go down to Hardcore. In the end I got through Insane mode anyway.
Time taken: At a guess, I'd say about 5 or 6 hours on Casual, and probably about 8 hours on Insane.
Score: 10/10!

4. X-men Legends II: Decided to play the sequal right after the first. Boasts a number of improvments over the original, but is still hampard by the typical dungeon crawler problems (high level = easy fights, especially right at the end). Still enjoyable overall, and deffinatly a step above the first.

Aww shit. You're right.
We still have 12 months to fight for the title though.
Forgot to add some old games I've finished going through recently.
4. Half-Life 2 (Xbox)
Not the first time I've gone through this game, it's just one of those kind of games that I can quite happily play on a regular basis. Kind of wish I got it for the PC so I could play online, but nevermind.
Time taken: Just over 7 hours. Seeing as I've gone through a few times my completion time has dropped. Was probably about 10 hours the first time around.
Score:9/10
5, 6 & 7. Splinter Cell, Pandora Tomorrow & Chaos Theory (Xbox)
I bought Splinter Cell when I first bought my Xbox however many years ago it came out. I had completed the other two on the PS2 when I borrowed them off of a friend, but I thought I may as well get the Xbox versions. I was going to get Double Agent for the 360, but a friend mentioned that the PS2 and Xbox versions are actually better than the 360 version, so I don't know which version to get to complete the collection :)
Time taken: Not a clue.
Scores:8/10, 8/10 & 9/10
8 & 9. Max Payne & Max Payne 2 (Xbox)
Another set of games I can quite happily go through again and again. There's just something about slow-motion diving about that makes me very happy :-D
For some reason that storyline on MP2 gets on my nerves, don't know why.....
Time taken: About 5 hours for each I think, a little longer for the Dead on Arrival difficulties.
Score:8/10 for both

I'm sorry, but I find it a bit hard to believe you've compleated 9 games in just 16 days.
I'm unemployed, believe it :-D
And a few of them I had got a way through before the start of the year and finished recently.

Wow I'm also unemployed Matt and I can't even beat 9 games in 16 days. Saying you were half way done with most of em but still. I hardly beat 5 games in 3 weeks. BTW koten I'm almost done with another game! That'll make 6! I should beat it by tomorrow evening.
Well I've been playing games since before you were born ;-]
To be honest my list probably won't be added to that much, seeing as I don't have the money to buy a lot of new games. Plus if I do get a job I won't be spending as much time in front of the TV.

You should get Gamefly Matt...it's a gift from the Goddess herself (that's from this game I'm playing don't mind it). You get to keep the games as long as want and that's how you beat so many games without paying for em :D and if you wanna keep em the games are cheaper then they are used at game stores. Hell when Gears of War came out it was $45 on Gamefly the next day.
Actually somebody on Xbox Live told me about that place last week. Only problem is that I'm in the UK, so I can't register for it :(

The graphics are pretty bad actually in some spots it looks REALLY dated. The textures are all muddy and stuff but in some spots it looks REALLY good. There is like almost no gameplay here the WHOLE game is story driven. You just walk around solving this (easy) puzzle or talk to this person, and the combat is very simple but thank god there's only 4 parts in the game that you fight. Alright, I beat another game. I suppose it's fair for me to review the games now.
1 - Gears of War (360)
The single-player and co-op modes were a bit too short for my tastes, but I'm still having a blast with multiplayer. The game looks great and has some interesting gameplay. I'm definitely waiting for the sequel, whenever it's announced to be released. Minus a few things here and there, this game could've been perfect
Overall Score: 9 / 10
2 - Phantasy Star Universe (360)
I was originally going to write a number of paragraphs for this game, but I figured a list of pros and cons would be better. (Which'll be inidicated by +'s and -'s)
+6 people to a party
+Create a character mode is more indepth than PSO
+More weapons, can be given special abilities that level up based on usage
-Horrible story mode, bad story and bad characters
-Even worse voice acting
-$10 a month to pay online; SEGA hates us
-Cannot use online characters offline, and vice versa.
-Worlds aren't that big, repetitive environments, vehicle missions suck
-No real challenge
-It's not PSO
Overall Score : 4 / 10
11. Project Zero II: The Crimson Butterfly (Xbox)
Not your usual survival-horror game, but enjoyable nevertheless. Wish the game lasted longer, but then, there are the "Frantic" and "Nightmare" difficulties to work through at some point.

3. WarioWare: Smooth Moves (Wii)
It's a bit slower-paced than previous versions, but some of the microgames are a bit more difficult. Of course, it's WarioWare, so the "story" mode only takes like 2 hours.
4. Hotel Dusk: Room 215 (DS)
AMAZING mystery-adventure game. Some of the best writing and animation I've seen in any game. And besides that, it's even a solid 15-20 hour game.

I JUST beat another game! That makes 8!
6. Dreamfall: The Longest Journey (Xbox)-I gotta say this is probably one of the best stories I've EVER seen in a game. It was like perfect. They should make this a movie or even a book. Whole chapters are even just dialog and cut scenes but it's worth it I LOVED this game. If you have a 360 or an Xbox PLAY this!
Time Taken: 10-12 hours
Score: 8/10
7. Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse (Xbox)-This game was hilarious! The screams are funny and the so is the all the dialog. The game is really short with only 12 levels but you HAVE to play this if u have an Xbox. The game is repetitive but since it's so short you won't notice it.
Time Taken: 6 hours
Score: 8/10
8. F.E.A.R. First Encounter Assault Recon (X360)-I have to say that this game kind of let me down. I was expecting a Half-Life or Resident Evil esque game but it was a straight forward repetitive shooter. That doesn't mean this is bad though it's one of the best FPS' I've ever played. Maybe the PC version was better or something I don't know. The story is REALLY whacked and makes almost 0 sense and in the end you only find out why you were chasing this one guy around and who he really was. The game is REALLY short and I beat it in like 3 days. The achievements are really hard to get to be honest almost impossible. The game is VERY frustrating in some parts and it's really easy to die...screw the Extreme difficulty.
Time Taken: 4-5 hours
Score: 8.5/10

Gears of War (X360) 10/10

Still enjoyable overall, and deffinatly a step above the first.

5. Phoenix Wright: Damn. I never thought a game could be so freaking crazy. I know you're an attorney and everything, but damn, these cases are bizzare, and getting to the bottom of it is tough, but exceptionally satisfying.
Score: 9.0
6. The Rub Rabbits: A fun sequal to Feel the Magic, but it doesn't really do anything different than the first game. The "Another story" unlocked afer beating the game is humorus, but just repeates the same mini-games.

7. Wario Ware: Smooth Moves: A shitload of fun to be had, but the story mode is most short. Hell of a lot of fun to be had with a group.

8. Red Steel: Wow... I have never seen a game get so many reviews that were so inacurate. This game was fun, plain and simple. Controls worked well, both gunning and sword fighting were fun, graphics were great, music was awesome and the story was solid. Anyone who gave this game below an 8.0 is an idiot.
Score: 8.6
9. Bionicle Heroes (DS Version): This game tries, and tries, and REALLY TRIES to be Metroid Prime Hunters. If you compare the two... this game is pretty bad. But considered with an open mind, Bionicle Heroes is actually really fun. There are plenty of areas to explore, lots of enemies, and the difficulty gets steadily higher. FF VII - 9.8/10 - When you bring to the table this much and literally obliterate the competition, you do not go unnoticed. Bringing to the table the best graphics, most beautiful cutscenes, one insanely expansive story that is so well described yet left so many gaping holes, an amazingly large gameworld both literally and figuratively, FF VII did everything right and brought more than any RPG gamer could've expected at the time. Characters are beyond memorable, backstory unbelievable, the actual story unbelievable, subtle unexplained themes and situations that leave one wanting more, it's hard to achieve the same type of glory and success better than what VII achieved at it's time of release.
FF VIII - 9.3/10 - The atmosphere of an extreme fantasy high school adventure, a predictable yet incredibly enjoyable love story, amazingly memorable characters, what can I say? I love this game. Gameplay is very fun, I love the Junction System, even though it can be abused when you know what you're doing and it's frustrating with the draws sometimes, it's very fun and customizable. Amazing graphics, CG topped FF VII by a mile and so did the realistic characters, excellent game all around. I did however feel that the FF VIII universe was not explored enough, which is understandable because of the focus on the relationships between characters being such a player in the game, but it would've been nice to get to know the FF VIII world more. My second favourite FF only to VII.
FF IX - 9.5/10 - A return to high fantasy, and what a thrilling ride. Zidane is a very fresh main character and the cast of good doers is just fun to watch insult, laugh, joke, and piss off each other. Graphics take a huge step up from VIII with excellent character models, CG was impressive too. Story got kind of weak, mainly towards the end, but the journey towards the end was easily one seriously well crafted adventure. Certainly one very fantasy filled and imagined universe, very beatifully made game. I have amazing memories of this one. My third favourite FF.
Chrono Trigger - Rating 10.0/10 - Screw it, there's nothing to say, this game is just amazing, if you don't play it, I hate you and have a personal vendetta against you. You are on my 'burn this person's house down' list. If FF VII was 10000 on a scale to me, this game would be 9999.9. Actually screw it, they tie, I could not live without either. They are both too good.
Chrono Cross - Rating 9.8/10 - A truly well made game, many different scenarios, very fun, no random battles and very interesting gameplay additions that affect the player both in and out of battles, a very thought provoking and pro living and pro life ending, interesting main characters, many playable characters with their own lives even if not fleshed out because there is little room for so many. My fourth favourite RPG behind FF VII, CT & VIII. A great sequel to arguably the best RPG of all time, and certainly stands well on it's own. Combined CT and CC make an incredible story.
Also, all of these have insanely amazing soundtracks, ending credit themes for FF VII and VIII, opening theme for VII and VIII, main theme for VII, countless tracks from CT and CC and others from FF VII to IX, truly Broadway worthy pieces.
And lastly, these are games that go down in the history books my friends, and still they have a long, long time to reach that historic status while they still stand as ever popular classics.
P.S.
Well, not really, I beat these before, but I have beaten them again, so, ya lol.

I technically finished FFXII yesterday (the credits rolled). There's still some stuff I want to do though.
If I really wanted to get technical, I could say I beat Lego Star Wars II already. I just haven't gotten to 100%---I'm at 93%.
What the hell? I'll add it anyway.
1) Gears of War (360) - 9 / 10
2) Phantasy Star Universe (360) - 4 / 10
3) Lego Star Wars II - The Original Trilogy (360)
I was a fan of the first game, but a bit disappointed by how short it was. Then again, the game was pretty much aimed at a younger audience than I was a part of, but it was fun none-the-less. I got around to playing the second game and I found there were a number of improvements. There were more items to collect, more stuff to partake in, and playing vehicle missions with a second player were no longer impossible to do. Graphically, the game looks pretty sweet for LEGO blocks. The audio seems pretty good as well.
A new feature that was a bit of a let down was the "create-a-character" mode. You could make two new characters, but could only use them in free-play mode (not outside of the levels) and the options were relatively small. Overall, I felt this game was a good sequel with a lot more content and play time than the first game.
Score --- 8 / 10

LEGO Star Wars is really neat I loved the second one.
I beat 2! That makes 10! I'm winning koten but knowing you you'll probably come on here with 5 games that you beat.

Time Taken: 4-5 hours on Normal
Score: 8.5/10
9. Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (X360)-This was game AMAZING! It was the first 360 game I ever bought and it did take me 2 months to beat but it was like almost perfect. I loved the level design and the way each one was never the same. It was cinematic and the attention to detail blew me away. I like the way Ubisoft is making their tactical games more arcadey and less slow and cerebral. I like the way GRAW is made and built and played. The graphics are next gen and it is even up there with Gears. There were so many glitches in this game though. There were a lot of animation glitches where Scott (main character) would just slide around instead of walking, when you're snapped against the wall his gun would stick out to the right while your shooting, there would be texture pop up here and there, sometimes you couldn't un-snap from a wall and it would require a restart, sometimes scripted events wouldn't play out and it required a restart. Other than that this game was incredible. I'm going to play it again on hard to unlock more achievements. Did I also mention it had a great story?
Time Taken: About 10 hours on Normal
Score: 9/10
10.Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth (PC)-This game was AMAZING! When it comes to the story and atmosphere anyways. This is based off the board game by H.P. Lovecraft (no that's not Hewlett Packards new line of computers). The graphics are a little dated and look pretty bad in some spots (think Dreamfall like above) but they are great when it needs to be. The story has lots of twists and is one of the best I've ever seen. The game is also pretty creepy and very dark. It is also very LONG and at some spots felt like a chore. If you can get through this game's puzzles and labyrinthine levels then you deserve a medal because these puzzles were the toughest I've ever seen. Play this game if you have an Xbox or a decent PC and you'll be very pleased!
Time Taken: At the end of the game it said 7 and a half hours but if you include all the times I died and trying to find out where to go I'd say about 15 hours on Private Investigator difficulty.

4 - Call of Duty 3 - PS3
Wasn't too bad. I need another console shooter like I need a sniper hole in the head, and another WW2 one even less, but the sixaxis motion control stuff freshened it up a bit. It's OK, and rather good for a bit of ctf online.
Script and AI errors a plenty though.
5 - Marvel Ultimate Alliance - PS3
Pretty good actually. And has multiple apon multiple endings. I'd say it's much better than Balder's gate Dark Alliance or other similar games. About 17 hours to finish. Lots of replay value playing with different characters if you like this kind of thing. Recommended.

That said, there are some problems with the game including odd graphical shifting of the landscape and less than stellar horse controls (which is bad cause getting to the fights is half the game). 11. Shadow of the Colossus: This game is really hard to put into words... Lets see... Sacrificing pretty much everything else, this game is an all out battle agains 16 bosses. While that is strange, it's actually a hell of a lot of fun cause each boss is so well designed. That said, there are some problems with the game including odd graphical shifting of the landscape and less than stellar horse controls (which is bad cause getting to the fights is half the game). Overall, it's pretty damn good, but it definatly has it's flaws.
Score: 8.5
12. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney -- Justice for All: It was nice to get a second go around in the courtroom with this game. Sadly, a lot of it was just the same stuff from the first game. Honestly, I mostly felt like I was playing an expantion rather than a new game. That said, it was still just as fun as the first time, the stories were great and the new Psy-lock thing was interesting. While it doesn't bring much more to the table, the game in and of itself is solid and enjoyable.

1. Resident Evil Remake on GC: It's everything Resident Evil was, when I played it on my Saturn. A revolutionary survival-horror action-adventure. It took what I liked about Alone in the Dark and produced an adventure that is many folds better. The remake is no different, the graphics, and the sound was excellent. As for gameplay, it didn't feel radically different but I never had a problem with RE's gameplay.
2. Dragon Quest VIII (PS2) - 9.7/10. I don't know how why it wasn't the first title mention but I believe its the best RPG on the PS2 and this generation. The graphics, sound, the gameplay, yes the gameplay. It's old school, but there is balance. The dungeons are not only well created, but they are set placed at excellent intervals. In contrast, modern RPGs, its just cut scene to dungeon to cut scene and so on. Limited exploration was a major gripe. I wanted something grand and VIII is definitely the title. :)
3. Grandia II on DC (9/10) - Definitely an excellent title. I went through it and enjoyed it. And I wouldn't mind playing it again if I didn't have such a long list of titles.
4. Panzer Dragoon Saga - Story with excellent plot with supernatural balance. It's one of the games that makes you wonder - why the hell are the super systems of today and even yesterday not providing me with an RPG experience beyond those before it? This game, out-does the RPGs before it. This title is beyond FFVI, Dragon Quest V, Seiken Densetsu 3, Chrono Trigger, all of them damn it. The characters, cut scenes, everything is perfect, just perfect. Ten out of ten.
5. Riviera (7/10) - I really recommend this title. Very interesting characters, artwork, storyline and game play.
6. Golden Sun 1/2 - 7.5/10. It has experience for sure, but it certainly doesn't meet the Camelot who brought Shining Force III.
7. Sword of Mana: 6/10. A very solid title.
8. Mega Man Legends: I've played this game like 20 times and still I want to play it again. In sum, it's an action-RPG that is solid. It may not lure many of the Mega Man fans (go for Mega Man Zero). I'd give it a 11/10 but to be fair, it'd be anywhere from 7.8-8.1.
9. Mega Man Zero: This game is evil. This game isn't easy at all. My DSL hinge got damaged when I was roughing up the DSL after getting my ass kicked several times. Moral - Play the game on the GBA. Also the DSL is too small for a title like this. 9.8/10..it loses 0.2 for being hard as hell. :P
10. Castlevania Symphony of the Night (10/10)
11. Final Fantasy VII: It's great. 9.0/10. Taking on the optional Weapons was quite nice.
12. Lunar: The Silver Star (Sega CD) - Play the original damn it with the better intro song. Queen Athena..what a women! Now I want to play the PSX version to enjoy the high quality anime cutscenes. 9.7/10
13. Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Wii) (8.8/10) - It was an excellent title, quite solid. Yes, this is a title from one of the best if not the best franchises ever created but it didn't feel revolutionary like OoT. It could be Nostalgia talking, but I do find Link to the Past more enjoyable than this title. Don't get me wrong - an 8.8 is a score a few games attain.
14. Xenosaga Episode III - 8.4 - The storyline in this title is clearly beyond any RPG I've played. I'd give the storyline alone 10/10, but this title is missing the grandness of Grandia or its spiritual predecessor, Xenogears. For a game to be considered a Saga, it needs to be huge, like Final fantasy.
15. La Pucelle - Solid overall, definitely an SRPG that a good number of the fans in genre will enjoy. 7.2/10.
16. Pokemon Yellow (GBA) - I don't know, but playing this game once again after the Gold, Silver, and whatever - all I can say is that Pokemon series hasn't evolved. It's an option and maybe Pearl will change that. (8.0/10)
17. Ninja Gaiden(NES) - I love this title. 8.5/10
18. Batman: The Video Game (NES) (5.5/10) - They say it's not the graphics that counts but the gameplay. However gameplay wise, this game isn't that revolutionary. I do like the music, though. But I went through it for nostalgic reasons.
19. Guilty Gears X (Dreamcast) - We all hear about graphics, the gameplay but one thin not stressed enough is the music. The music suite on this title is more natural than any RPG I've played. Overall it stands with Lunar, FFVI, Panzer Dragoon, Metal Gear, etc. (10/10)
20. Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 - Love the title and will play it again. (8.2/10)
21. Resident Evil: Code Veronica (DC) - 9.2/10. This is one of th best RE titles I've played. This is like two games in one, you don't even need the killer adventures in Antartica to throw the score over 9.
22. NiGHTs on Saturn - 9.5/10. I replayed the game dozens of times with the 3D-pad, of course, and despite that - I still want to play it again. This is a title that platformer of today have yet to emulate. Rachet or the Jak series isn't that bad, nor is Crash, Croc, Mario 64, Banjo-Kazooie, but in my opinion, NiGHTS gets most attention. :)
23. Virtual On (Saturn) - 7.0/10. I'd be much better if I could get a hold of that dual-controller. I had one, but it's no longer here. If I could get two of them, I can continue on with my multiplay affairs.
24. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (on DC) - I don't what to say about this title other than - 2D fighters >>> 3D counterpart. This game is one of the titans in the 2D fighter arena. I give it a 9.7/10, and that's because Guilty Gear is just a bit better. ;)
25. Rainbow Six - Eagle Watch (PC). It's old as hell, but I have the expansion with the guide so I had to try it out once. A pretty solid title for its time, I give it a 6.5/10. It's probably the age that lowered the rating by a point.
26. Empire Earth II (PC) 6/10. I don't know what to say now. It's good.
27. Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 (PS2) - Re-did the single-player missions. Not too bad. The game is peak of the series, even though it didn't blow me away like the first and second. 7/10
28. Dragon Force on Saturn - 8.5
29. Might Morphin' Power Rangers: The Movie(Sega Genesis) - 6/10. I really don't give a shit about these numerical values, but it was definitely a 6 at its time as well. The gameplay, sound, and visuals weren't revolutionary in its time but it was quite true to the actual storyline. And seeing that I'm down with Might Morphin', I had to control the Zords once again.
30. Wild Arms 2 (PSX) - I really like the title. It didn't feel better than first one, but has story, gameplay, in sum - solid. 8.0/10
31. Sudden Strike II (PC) - Old but nontheless a great RTS. 8.0/10
32. Half-life 2 (PC): Just like the rest. 9/10
33. Tales of Phantasia (GBA/SNES Import) - 8.2/10 - I played both titles back to back. I preferred the sound and visual quality of the SNES, version, and I prefer Hiroya Hatsushiba's intro theme. In sum, I really like both titles. Cress was err, but the rest were great characters. I really liked Arche's character and Dhaos. ^_^ My average level in the SNES version was lv 85 while the GBA version was over 90.
34. Sailor Moon: Another Story (SNES) - 8.4/10. I want to say a bit more but I'll continue later.
35. Super Mario Bros (NES) - I was playing the game with my 3-year old nephew in order to condition him into get him "hooked on gaming". It sort of worked, he did play (along with Zelda: The Wind Waker), but I ended up control, and had to show him how its done. :P Too bad New SMB isn't that easy, it took me 10 hours to get to world 8.
36. Ace Combat 3 - 7/10.
37. Shin Megami Tensei: DDS - Excellent. 8.8/10
38. Comand & Conquer: Generals (PC) (6/10) - A pretty decent RTS, the graphics looked pretty. But it didn't meet the quality of Red Alert.
39. Age of Empire II + Expansion (PC) - Perfect 10/10. It may seem like an erroneous score but I still remember playing this game for days with limited sleep. :)
40. Crazy Taxi (DC) - 8.9/10
41. Atelier Iris Eternal Mana (PS2) - 8.4/10. I liked the title but it should be more alchemy heavy its predecessor. It's a great spin-off, nonetheless.
42. Warhawk (PS). Yes, I got the game. Long case and all, and when hearing about a sequel, I had a urge to play it again. 7.7/10
43. Lufia II (SNES) - Played it again on the good ol' Super Nintendo. 8/10
44. Jungle Book (SMS) - I was playing it on the go. It didn't seem that bad on the subway - passable for sure (5.5/10)
45. Marvel Super Heroes - Coupled with the action Reply device, it was an excellent run-through without slow-downs. 7.9/10 :)
46. Lunar: Dragon Song - Diluted sequel. The originals were like Acid, this game is a base. This is what really happens when you lose a proton. 4.5/10.
I definitely went through a few more titles. I can't remember... All I know is that I played various titles (Ikaruga, DMC, Conker's Bad Fur Day, etc) thanks to ignoring the Simpsons, Family Guys, WWE, ECW, and cutting back on the internet. ;)
I'll edit it later...just too lazy. Need Suikoden.

Watch out koten I've inched ahead! Damn I am TOOOO good...I beat 3 games in one day...
Update: Make that 4 games koten!
Time Taken: Too Long...about 6-7 hours maybe even 8 on Normal
Score: 8/10
6. Dreamfall: The Longest Journey (Xbox)-I gotta say this is probably one of the best stories I've EVER seen in a game. It was like perfect. They should make this a movie or even a book.
Time Taken: 6 hours on Normal
Score: 8/10
Score: 8.5/10
11.Lost Planet: Extreme Condition (X360)-I gotta say this game's main strength is it's graphics. They are better then Gears of War in some ways and they are just jaw dropping. Everything looks so real without all that next genny shiny crap. The game mixes things up here and there and is really fun and yet challenging but not enough to make you hate the game. You have a variety of alien Akrid and humans to kill and you can drive mechs! Yes they are done well and they ARE fun. You can even attach and detach weapons for mech at anytime and Wayne (the character) can use the mech weapons himself! If you have a 360 PLAY THIS! This game just isn't getting enough credit out there.
Time Taken: 8-9 hours on Normal
Score: 8.5/10
12.Mortal Kombat (SNES)-Thank you emulators and thank you homebrew on PSPs! I beat Shang Tsung with Scorpion and this game is a cheap bitch even on Very Easy! I prefer the Genesis version though. I went back and played through with all the characters so it's fair as koten said.
Time Taken: 1 hour on Very Easy
Score: 8.5/10
13.Medal of Honor Allied Assault: Spearhead (PC)-Compared to now-a-days FPS' and WWII shooters this thing is damn ugly (came out in '02)...and it's a cheap whore even on Easy. This game DOES keep your adrenaline going, though, and that's what counts! A very short expansion pack, too, mind you.
Time Taken: 3-4 hours on Easy
Score: 7.5/10
14.Mortal Kombat 4 (PSX)-I played this on my PSP...yeah you heard me my PSP! Thanks to Custom Firmware Dark Alex hacked the official Sony PS1 emulator and you can use your own PS1 games! 0 slowdown and it looks better then it does on the PS1! Anyways This game is always fun and I'm going to try to do at least every fatality...beat Shinnok with Scorpion and hit the credits! Toasty! 3D! I went through and beat it again with about 7 more characters so it's considered fair and not cheating...was a PAIN in the ass though.
Time Taken: 30 minutes on Very Easy
Score: 9/10
Best Game so Far:
Gears of War (X360) 10/10
Worst Game so Far:
Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 (X360) 6.5/10

I wouldn't really consider a game "finished" by going through the story mode with one character, especialy on very easy... That's just cheaply boosting your game count.
1. Star Wars Episode III DS: Fun little side scroller that's pretty damn challenging at some points. Anakin's story is a little harder (and more fun)
Score. 8.2
2. Yoshi's Island DS: Finished this one litteraly 10 minutes ago. Damn fun, but the last world is an absolute cheap whore in it's difficulty.
Score:8.6
3. X-men Legends: Entertaining so long as you don't mind a lot of sense-less violence. Felt a lot like your standard dungeon crawler though.
Score: 8.4
4. X-men Legends II: Decided to play the sequal right after the first. Boasts a number of improvments over the original, but is still hampard by the typical dungeon crawler problems (high level = easy fights, especially right at the end). Still enjoyable overall, and deffinatly a step above the first.
Score: 8.6
5. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Damn.
Score: 8.0
7. Wario Ware Smooth Moves: A shitload of fun to be had, but the story mode is most short. Hell of a lot of fun to be had with a group.
Score: 8.8
The one real downfall is that it's really short, only about 4 hours. Overall, pretty good for a licensed product.
Score: 8.1
10. Dragon Quest Heroes Rocket Slime: This game is both adorable an awesome. The gameplay is rocksolid, especially during the tank battes. Characters and story are funny and the whole game is lighthearted but no walk in the park. Deffinatly a solid purchase for any DS owner.

While it doesn't bring much more to the table, the game in and of itself is solid and enjoyable.
Score: 8.8
13. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (GBA): A decent little side scroler, but nothing to go insane over. It can be fun for a while, but part of it are a total cheap whore in difficalty. What makes it worse is that the game isn't "officially" over until you get 100%, which you can't do until you've gone through the entire map twice. Long story short: It's fun if you're a massocist. If your not, get the console version.

i only use cheats when i finished a game and want to fiddle around with it.
I usually play games at medium/normal, if i find it too easy i switch it up and if the game is worth my time and then some i will play it though many times on high and max difficulty.
actually, i have just finished Red alert 2 for the 10 or so time now, waiting for supreme commander to arrive, i played it on hard and the last mission on the allies took me a solid full day of gaming to win, it was a true war of attrition, i constantly thought i had no chance and the AI and me just had a big bloodbath for many hours until i finally managed to make three armies, and send them out to encircle his base and use them as diversionary forces for the fourth arm of my war machine that came from his rear and flanked his ass. It was a satisfying victory.

Shadow of the Collosus - 9.5/10 - Ok, I don't even know what to start off with, The world is amazing, the story is told in a very interesting way, totally immersive on all levels. The creator is a true literary man when he tells you that his interpretation of the story is not the 'correct' one and that the story can be interpreted in different ways for the enjoyment of the player. Amazing battles too, very creative and very fun and remarkably exciting, epic, just play this game. It's awesome, lovely, whatever, any good and complimentary word you can think of, it can be associated with this title.

I sent Jade Empire back man f^ck that game! There are cut scenes every 2 seconds literally and the combat is so dull and annoying plus the 360 doesn't emulate the game that well so it feels like I'm playing it on my PC and that means massive frame rate drop like down in the 10s. Too bad though I thought this was going to be really good...major disappointment! ATM I'm just playing a lot of PS1 games on my PSP and finished up GRAW on Hard (see I DO play games on hard).

But considered with an open mind, Bionicle Heroes is actually really fun. There are plenty of areas to explore, lots of enemies, and the difficulty gets steadily higher.
Score: 8.8

Also, of note, is the way I actually grew to like Raiden through the story.

YES! That's how you play MGS2! You just play it, and get to know it, and it's awesome! It was my introduction to MGS, a damn fine one at that too. I love the gameplay style still. In some or even a lot of ways, I prefer the simplicity of sneaking in MGS1 and 2 over 3.
Hmm, I need to do a bit of catching up. Good job I've just completed:
12. Metal Gear Solid (PSX) :-D
You guys obviously know what Metal Gear is, so I won't bother going into details. I decided to go through the series, and of course, here's the best place to start. I think I may start on Sons of Liberty later on.
Time Taken: I've played through this game a lot of times now, so the playing time has gone down considerably compared to when I first played it. I got through this time in roughly 5 hours I think, I should really keep track of the times for this thread :)
Score: Looks a bit lame compared to all these newer games now, but of course it's not all about graphics (and don't you let anybody else tell you otherwise!!). Anyway, I'll stop rambling: 9/10
Edit: Oh yea, I forgot these ones, duh (and scores as well, double duh).
13: Parasite Eve II (PSX)
I wish they had released the first game over here, because I absolutely LOVE this game. One SquareSoft game that I can still bear to play nowadays.
Time taken: About 8 hours, I took it slowly because I haven't played it in a while.

Yeah baby 2 more games finito!
Time Taken: Too Long...about 6-7 hours maybe even 8 on Normal
Score: 8/10
6. Dreamfall: The Longest Journey (Xbox)-I gotta say this is probably one of the best stories I've EVER seen in a game. It was like perfect. They should make this a movie or even a book.
Time Taken: 6 hours on Normal
Score: 8/10
Score: 9/10
15.Medal of Honor Allied Assault Breakthrough (PC)-This was A LOT better then Spearhead even though it got worse reviews. At least the graphics didn't tear into your eyes. They were about on par with MOH: Frontline. The game had some elements that they need to start using in the new WWII shooters! I saw guns in there that weren't in any other WWII game I played...the game was pretty good actually for an expansion pack to a tired series. I also had to use some cheats here and there thanks to my untimely quick saves...I'd be out of ammo just before a huge fight of 20 nazis....I can't pistol whip them all can I? Also sometimes I'd quick save with 5 health just before a huge fight but the last auto save was 10 objectives back...not restarting that!
Time Taken: 4-5 hours on Easy (the game was a cheap bitch even then)
Score: 8/10
16.Syphon Filter (PSX)-This is the best TPS on the PSX period I don't CARE what you say! I've had this game even since it came out and I play it a few times a year. What's even better is I can now play this on my PSP! And no this isn't the one from the Sony store it's my own rip off my disc (thank you Dark Alex!). I played this with the one shot kill code on but that makes the game even more fun! I always alternate...play once with the code then the next time without the code.
Time Taken: 3 and a half hours on Normal

Syphon Filter is one of the best TPS' ever, seriously. I love that game, it's just too awesome and can't hold it's awesomeness to itself. It's just one of the best shooters ever made.
1) Gears of War (360) - 9 / 10
2) Phantasy Star Universe (360) - 4 / 10
3) Lego Star Wars II - The Original Trilogy (360) - 8 / 10
4) Crackdown (360)

The game, for the most part, both succeeds and fails at the same time. You really get that sense of the sandbox gameplay, so you can do whatever whenever. However, the lack of a solid story and mission structure make me feel that, at times, there wasn't any purpose for me playing. Co-op was an excellent idea, but it could've been fixed somewhat. The "jump in and out gameplay" isn't as smooth as it sounds. If someone joins, both players have to spawn from a supply point, rather than the host staying where they're at and someone else catches up.
It's fairly short, but it's still pretty fun.
Overall score: 8 / 10

Heeeeey it wasn't that bad. It was still pretty good at least it tried real hard to keep the formula going. ATM I'm playing Battlefield 2 for 360 and Conker: Live and Reloaded for Xbox. I remember renting Conker for N64 when my mom found out about it and took it back...so now she can't say anything about this one :D I also always wanted to play BF2 but my PC won't run it so now's my chance!

Time for an update. I've been forgetting to add some games...
1. Elite Beat Agents (DS)
Technically I beat the final song on the hardest difficulty last year, but I just recently got the best possible ranking on it... so yeah. I'm adding it anyways. It's a must-play for all DS owners.
2. Trauma Center: Second Opinion (Wii)
It's not quite as fun as it was on the DS, but there's a bunch of new missions, so it's kind of a trade-off as to which version's better. But they're both excellent games.
3. WarioWare: Smooth Moves (Wii)
It's a bit slower-paced than previous versions, but some of the microgames are a bit more difficult. Of course, it's WarioWare, so the "story" mode only takes like 2 hours. Good party game, definitely.
4. Hotel Dusk: Room 215 (DS)
AMAZING mystery-adventure game. Some of the best writing and animation I've seen in any game. And besides that, it's even a solid 15-20 hour game.
5. Rayman: Raving Rabbids (Wii)
Fun to play, but it gets repetitive after a while. There's no real story, it's just a collection of minigames. Some of them are VERY challenging, but a lot of them are similar to each other, or are just harder versions of earlier games. Good party game.
6. Tetris DS (DS)
Finally passed 200 lines on Marathon mode. I'm not a big Tetris fan, but it's one of those games that's just nice to have around every once in a while, and Tetris DS adds some nice new elements to classic Tetris.
7. Red Steel (Wii)
Finally forced myself to sit down and finish the last few missions. It's a decent game if you're looking for a Wii action/shooter, but it's really glitchy and just plain not well-made. Multiplayer is also fun if you can actually find 4 people willing to put up with the craptasticness of it all long enough to get a hold on the controls.

Let's see, I've not finished many games recently...but here it goes.
1. Gunstar Super Heroes GBA
Took me a little while to appreciate it, as the weapon system is a bit different than the original, but this is like Gunstar Heroes 1.5. I've beat it 2 times with Blue and Red each (on Normal), making my 3rd play-through now with red on Hard. I won't stop until I beat it with Blue on hard though. One of the best looking and most action packed GBA games available.
I'm currently finishing harder difficulties and what-not of other games so I won't say I beat them yet. I have all S-Ranks on Excite Trucks normal difficulty so far. I also plan on beating Trauma Center: SO and Zelda: TP sometime soon but it's really just a matter of time. Metroid Zero Mission is pretty short I hear and I'm a nice chunk into that as well. This year I plan on finishing a lot of the games (especial
