You could rank them in, power, style, their goals, insanity, etc.

Personally, I believe Kefka from FF6 was great.

He did something very few villians get to do, he managed to destroy the world while the heroes were trying to stop him.

+Had a laser tower.
+Became the God of magic.
+Final fight required the use of all characters in his five forms.
+Had a crazy cult.
+Ruthless and insane.

I haven't played a whole lot of RPGs, but you can't forget Magus and then Lavos from ChronoTrigger.

Even though I'm not a fanboy of FF7 I'm gonna have to say Sephiroth. He was the most ruthless

Anyone who claims Sephiroth is the best must be confused. For about 90% of the game, he was a friggin' popcicle. He did nothing. He didn't kill Aerith nor did he kill President Shinra. That stuff was all Jenova's doing.

Anyway....

It's hard for me to give the title of "best RPG villian" to anyone since, well, I just never was quite fond of most of them. They all just kind of filled up spots and did their duty. I've always been fond of Lynx from Chrono Cross, though. For some reason or another, I just thought he was cool (plus playing as him was pretty sweet). I think that's odd since I hate cat people, but he ends up being a decent bad guy.

I like Galician too. And Yggdrassil from Tales of Symphonia, he's pretty unconventional for an evil omnipotent overlord.

He was pretty sweet but his subordinate (i completely forgot his name, Ramirez i think?) was just insane, i loved that game.

As for the question, Shaher from Tactic's Ogre, the Knight of Lodus. its a freaking evil angle, how aweasome is that.

Yes Ramirez was insane also. It made me so mad when he destroyed my island. :(

Actually what made me so mad is when i pwned my ass like twenty times over with his dumb stat reducers and whatnot. And then when i pwned his ass finally, he got stronger and pwned the shit outta me again.

Kefka would be my number one choice, as well as Magus from Chrono Trigger.

Ramirez, despite how cool he was, was easy if you had Gilder in your party. Aura of Denial ftw.

Man, I loved playing Skies. It was fun getting a chance to play it again on the Gamecube. It had some nice improvements over the DreamCast version. Too bad Grandia II didn't get a decent port.

Ramirez the second time (the true final boss) was a total pushover compared to his first fight and the final ship battle. Anyone else find it anticlimactic?

It was. I was more upset with the fact that you get a Captain's Stripe after fighting Zelos but you can't use it.

Final Fantasy VI has always been my favorite in the series, and it's had my favorite soundtrack from the series. I might have to vote for Kefka, giving FFVI my favorite RPG villain, as well.

Well considering I haven't played the game in over 10 years (maybe longer than that) I am confused on how Sephiroth wasn't responsible for killing her? Was that not his spirit that killed her? Would you like to explain to me to clarify my "confusion" since I'm apparently not welcome to have an opinon on what I think. You're pretty confused on what the topic is because this is based on anyones opinion, even if he was a "popcicle." I should neg rep you, but I don't do that usually.

And I thought about it and I think Gannon would be the best villain.

:cry2: Black Waltz # 2 of Final Fantasy 9 gets mine. FF9 is my favorite FF game in the entire series, and when the Black Waltz kills off all the mage dolls in front of Vivi, it breaks my heart. :'( The Black Waltz truly is heartless. :cry2:

I choose: Albedo

Kefka is amazing, so is Ghaleon from the Lunar series all for the same reason but Albedo is just a bit better, imo. :)

You seem to have taken my statement a bit too seriously. I just think Sephiroth is a wee bit overrated because he didn't do anything until the very end of the game, which was casting Meteor. As for Aerith's death, Sephiroth was in an icicle for most of the game. Jenova was running around trying to get a hold of the Black Materia. It wasn't necessarily Sephiroth's spirit, but Jenova posing as Sephiroth. I remember the characters clearly stating this at some point within the game. There's also the fact that everytime Sephiroth got you into a boss fight, you fought a different portion of Jenova.
You are allowed to have your opinion. It's just that a majority of Sephiroth fans don't have an understanding on what he actually did. The fact that you made yourself sound threatened by that post baffles me, but whatever.

I guess we have a difference in opinion on what threatened means also, but w/e. I'm allowed my opinion and my mistake, so I'll clarify I think Jenova was a badass villian with a combination of Sephiroth thrown into the mix.
