European launch announcement next Tuesday?

The latest of today’s (seemingly very well-founded) rumours is that the official announcement on the launch date of the PS3 in Europe will be made next Tuesday (January 23). And as mentioned before, it’s looking highly likely that the launch date itself will be March 23.

Proverbial sources close to PlayStation have stated that the European launch date for the PS3 is to be confirmed in the next week to ten days. Moreover, it’s looking highly likely the date in question will be March 23. Id really like to buy one when it hits the shelve here in europe, but its way too expensive. id like to buy the 60GB version.

I found this poorly written commentary interesting:

£400 makes the most sense.

£100 more than the PS2 was at launch which to me is a sensible ask since PS3 is 500 times more packed than PS2 and only asking a extra £100 for it seems fair.

Sony PS3 won't have many obstacles to jump here in the UK if it launches for £399.99.

Note: We are getting more willing to pay here. Today I visited a Sony store and they were all out of 46" Bravia and the guy said more shipments will be coming today and almost all of them were already ordered for customer.
