Yep, the PSP is finally getting some much-needed RPG loving, and thanks to Famitsu, we once again have new info on the latest RPG titles coming to the PSP: a port of the first Final Fantasy game as well as its aptly-misnomered sequel, Final Fantasy II.

Both Final Fantasy Anniversary Edition and Final Fantasy II Anniversary Edition, which are set to be released in Japan this year, come with the usual new graphics upgrades that ports routinely undergo. A few content enhancements are also reportedly in the works, and we'll be sure to keep updating you guys as soon as we get more details.

The principal elements of both games will reportedly be taken from the GBA title Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls. Well, that's pretty much it. For your Final Fantasy fix, check out the magazine scans featuring both games below. Don't forget to keep checking back here at QJ for more updates.

In the words of Chinese redubbed Darth Vader in Star Wars Episode III,

DO NOT WANT.

I'm not a proponent of the "Any Square Enix support is good support" philosophy. They could achieve so much more than yet another 2D FF1+2 remake on PSP; especially when the DS has a 3D FFIII.

This was remade on Wonderswan.
This was remade on PS1
This was remade on GBA

This doesn't need another remake.

^ Unless in 3D? Yeah, I really think Square doesnt care about the PSP, this is kinda proof that they are THROWING the system a bone because they feel they have to, not because they really want to.

Yeah I'm really disappointed in this simply because this game has been remade too much for its own good. Hell if you have it on any of the platforms mentioned above, then there is no need to invest into these games.
