What about other country??
Hi I was in big store that I like to shop for goods
I saw a small store to sell electronic machine and a lot of illegal copy of PS2 in I want to by okami to paly it in I paid 2.6 dollar :smoke: for this excellent game
Suddenly I saw playstion 3 20 gig boxes and I asked how much cost and he said it's about 900 dollar
I think it's very high price but I don't be mad because in my country (it is Saudi Arabia and am in Riyadh) ALL game store sell illegal game even consoles with mod or hacked firmware like Xbox 360
My question is these consoles like playstion 3 is count it for world sales?
I mean why we always see number for USA, Japan and Europe and don't see it for Africa of Asia or middle east?
Sorry for my bad English but I love to write in these forum :)

I believe India and the Middle East is covered in the Asian market, and the rest is probably covered under the European market. Sales matter so long as its an authorized Sony retailer thats selling authorized products, i doubt mod'd products or imports would count at all except maybe at their point of origin if the sale was indeed a legitimate one.

They classify the rest of the world as Europe usually. So, when you see European sales numbers, normally it means all of Europe, the middle east, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, etc.

Can't say I have. I've only been to:
Mobile
Baldwin County (Gulf Shores, Fairhope, Daphne, etc.)
Andalusia
Jackson
Montgomery
Birmingham
In Alabama. I normally don't travel much in this state as I'm in the far south portion of it, so when I travel it's normally to Florida (which is only 45 mins. away) or New Orleans. Anywhere else I go is normally far away like Cali or Texas.
On topic, I'm not totally sure if they stagger the launches between the various contries or not when they do a EU release. I'm pretty sure they all get it at the same time. It seems like that would be the hardest territory to launch in for that reason, so I don't understand why the EU members feel like Sony singled them out to be screwed over by a delay. It was the only logical step as it requires the most systems to make sure each country gets their fair share of units.

No, that information doesn't apply to SONY. Asia is treated separately. They have a division that covers the EMEA region specifically for CE launch tasks. EMEA standing for Europe MiddleEast and Africa. It may not necessarily bring uber expensive products(LCD TV etc) to all three markets at the same time. But when it's game related, rest assured they do it together. Examples include PS1, PS2 and PSP launches here that proceeded a day before/after their European launches.
Saud,
Wait until March, that's when you'll start seeing official Sony dealers in Saudi Arabia to carry PS3's under the same price tag as officially declared by Sony. You'd need to ask around what stores are Sony official retail partners in the region. If you couldn't figure out who is it. Go to any mall, walk into a big CE(consumer electronics) store and ask an attendant who's the retail partner for Sony in Riyadh(Get there number if possible). I'm sure they'll guide you. So call them, check if PS3's coming in March n you'll be all set for rock'n roll.
