I'm seeing it on Friday (hopefully, although I was meant to see it last week, however due to limited release it wasn't possible), so I'll let you know!

And here I was expecting jim henson style of movie along the vein of Labyrinth or Dark Crystal

Update - I've just seen it. It's very very good! I hope it wins best foreign film at the academy awards. It's very dark for a fairy tale film.
if you liked it you should see the devil's backbone. it's the first part in his trilogy of films. pan's labyrinth is the second. i think the third is going to be called like 1331 or something, i can't remember. they're not really related besides the fact that they take place around the same time. they're just very similar in tone and plot.
