Yep, Tose has been around a very long time. Like 1Up said though, finding out what games they've done is tough as hell.

I think thats just fine. It seems that a lot of their games are ports or off shoots of established games. I think it frees up Square, Capcom ect resources so they can focus on their really big games. Now that development costs are sky rocketing I'm not shocked at all. It makes good business sense.

Makes perfect sense to have someone do that kinda stuff, never knew there was a company that big that only does that though...

I thought more people would already know about this on these boards? Hell I knew about Tose, but I didn't think it was a big deal.

As long as the games are fun I don't care.

I had heard of Tose previously but had no idea of how much work they do/may have done in gaming. Seeing as how it is somewhat of a sub-contractor status is kind of a big deal as many people compare quality with name and if Tose is doing to work I would like to be able to link Tose with any given game.

That's crazy. Why the wouldn't want recognition for their work is beyond me.
That said, I could give a damn who makes the game, so long as I can enjoy it. If they want to stay secret, for whatever reason, that's fine by me.

There are actually lots of instances of outsourcing in all industries that would surprise people. Even art these days is outsourced to art students and then the world famous painter will just add personal touch ups to it.

I know an art director for a 3rd party company that is outsourced to work on several titles for EA, Capcom & other publishers... It's a sign of the times!
