oh sweet god in heaven . I just watched the trailer . It blows away everything i've seen on the 360 and ps3 . The forest parts were amazing.
d3d 10 is going to be very very good to us gamers

this game look supreme, the lighting is totally out of this world and the shadows and textures....
but i've been fooled by so many games that promise the world with graphics and end up being poor in terms of gameplay, halo (it was ok) , driver 3, the getaway (but i liked it) and nfs carbon.

well when farcry apeared what 3 years ago or 4 years now it delievered on all but the a.i promise (and even then it wasn't that bad) I don't see why they can't do it again .
Some times the textures aren't all that great. However this was made with d3d9 in mind so its prob targeting 256mbs to 512mb cards . I can't wait for the first games that target 756mbs to 1gig

haha the recoommend makes me laugh as that is actually what you'd want to play on at the minimum. But wow that is nuts

they mark them with low requirements so that more people who have the hardware buy it.
but yeah it is nuts, it won't be pretty on my card, let alone a freakin' 7600....

This game look so damn good that it make my eyes bleed and gives me a hard on. MUST BYE!!! No questions asked.
You think it will run good on a rig with 2 gigs of DDR RAM, a Dual Core 64 bit AMD X2 4200, with a NVidia 7900 BFG Ultra with 512 MB is GDDR3 RAM? My MoBo is a MSI Diamond too, nice and fast. I hope it will because this game looks like it will kick azz. Maybe I will get another 7900 to do SLi.

^I have pretty much the same setup as you, though I have an Intel and 7900 GS. Hope it runs well.

Looking forward to this game. I need something to try and tax my PC other than 3DMark06.

Well I just got my free copy of Vista today... (I'm a Microsoft certified partner ;) )
I have a dual core AMD & need to upgrade the ram to 4GB & I will order a 8800 video card. (I have a couple hundred credit with Amazon ;) )
Once I make the minor upgrades to my rig I will be ready to run Crysis in all it's glory... I think crisis will be the benchmark of gaming visuals based on the brute strength of PCs and the unlimited memory resources. Once the console developers really learn how to squeeze power out the multicore processors we will see some amazing things across the board. Peace

i think you might want to hold off on that 8800 if you want to run crysis on its full glory
i hear mumblings that your going to need a 1gig card to use the highest texture packs

Could you use a 7950GX2 in that case, bar it being a DX9 card and not 10?

the gx2 is what sli on one card ?
You will get less performance , more power drain and less features .
Sli isn't 2x the power .
Sli , cross fire and what have you is a waste of money currently.
We get new cards every 18 months or so that give us large performance increases and normaly minor bumps every 6-8 months . Spending double the money on what could be 0-75% improvement depending on teh game is a bit of a waste .
Personaly I want to see ati's physics take off . I would love to be able to use my old card as a physics card

I so desperately want this game, but I'm nowhere near being able to run it, I need a whole new rig, which I hope to have by the end of the year.

Because I can get an OEM 7900 BFG on eBay for around $200. And I am not going Vista for the life of me. Not for at least a year. Let the Gamma tester be brave and put in on their systems, but not me.

See, with 2 7900 BFG Ultras I would have 1 gig vid RAM. So that is the goods....

Deaboyz, seriously, SLi and Crossfire are resource hogs, they get hot quicker and you're stuck with the graphic set of the weaker cards no matter how much RAM and bandwidth you get with them.
Holy shit does that game have some serious requirments, but hasnt it effectively placed itself a small niche market?

Not really, despite the high "requirements", it'll run pretty well (read, decent) even on some damned doggedly old hardware - Least by today's standards.
Garfunkel
02-08-2007, 09:52 AM
well they have too, they can't afford to target a heavy niche market where only a few million will be able to run the game, let alone buy it.

Maybe theyll get some patches like Oblivion where it makes it look like ass so it runs on super crap computers.
My computer is pretty decent. It can run Oblivion much better than a 360, so i just hope i can play Crysis on 1024x768 resolution with some half decent textures and stuff.

I can't even run Oblivion with the ass patch. If I tried to run Crysis it would look like ass and a half plus some beef stew.

I can run oblivion with everything maxed and HDR.
but this is only at 1024x768 on a 15" while my 20.1" 1680x1050 is being RMA'd...
I can run the supreme commander the same and 2x AA on this screen, i should be able to run Supreme commander fine on my proper screen when i get a new one without AA.

Anybody here ever see the "Doom 3 on TNT2" hack? The last few posts made me remember that.

im planinng on picking up this game when i build a new PC next year. providing this is not out on PS3
Garfunkel

they said they "couldn't" make the game o ps3 or 360, they could they would just need to optimize it and not make a shitty port.
still, most of the pc's that can run this game put the ps3 or 360 to shame.
