View Full Version : Can Nintendo Make up For Lost Ground in the U.S?

If there's one place that Nintendo has struggled a lot in is the United States. Nintendo will probably always be referred to as a "shitty, kiddy console". It's saddening, but it also frustrates me bcause it's mostly Nintendo's fault. Weak lineup. The colors of the Gamecube available at launch (a platinum or red one would of done nicely at launch). But the biggest fault ..... putting the weight on Luigi's Mansion to carry Gamecube during the first month.

Can Nintendo really rebound from some disasterous mistakes in the U.S?

Yeah, it's not too late, but they'd better get their ass in gear and put their name out there.

People are paranoid. Thats why they think GCN sucks.

ahh good points Kliq . . i agree

it is definately not too late . . with Capcoms 5 coming out, their own batch of titles, and some MORE advertising on Nintendo's part, they could recover

i think E3 is a make or break situation . . Nintendo is riding on it

If not with GCN, they should be able to will with their next console. Lets just hope they launch with something better than before.

But remember, the Capcom 5 really isn't Gamecube exclusive. All the games are coming to other consoles but Resident Evil 4.

Too late, might as well put out some strong points and sell while you can, but next gens are coming out soon anyways.

I honestly stick-up for the GCN if I hear some kids trashing it. For the most part, it's PS2 fans, and I'll of course let them know how I feel about that system O:-) . I think the GCN needs (all exclusive):

1) GTA-type game
2) Killer FPS
3) Sweet driving game
4) Better online plan
5) More available system-link for LAN fans/games that support it
6) More exclusive third-party games

I should be President of NoA.

Nintendo really did make some bad business decisions, like the ones you said above.

They need more exclusive 3rd party support, more advertising, more games that appeal to the mature gamer, etc.

Well advertising does not equal sales. Just look at ToeJam and Earl 3.................. :-X

I suppose, but if they advertise more of their mature commercials, it may turn the kiddy image of the GCN around.

But OZ isn't really a major market.

Bull shit! thats the reason why nintendo is geting culled out there

we are such an important market that now us Aussis get games made esp for out teritory (US gets NFL games and we get our own sports like V8 supercars and AFL Live), ever since the Playstation... develpoers and the console giants have stood up and looked at Australia to reap some fine turn over.

let me explain

Point 1 the cube advertises over here in V8 super cars a popular motor sport event. yet seeing the cube section reveales no V8 games, Xbox and PS2 both have the V8 supercars game from codemasters (codemasters stoped supporting the cube)

Point 2 the cube advertises in AFL yet .... no AFL game once again the PS2 and xbox both have the AFL live game (not an xbox "LIVE" game)
