Hey, does anyone know how to stop the NPC's from fleeing from you? because for some reason (even though i can't remember doing anything to him), the guy who hangs out at the imperial city arena and accepts bets for combatants keeps fleeing from me when i go near him, no matter what i do i can't get him to talk to me without running away.
I need to figure this out because i had a bet on a combatant, i lost and now this happens, for some reason i can't enter the arena and fight until this bet is sorted out, i suppose i need to talk to the guy but he doesn't stay still!
Is there some way i can just respawn him?
+rep for anyone who can help!

Hey Garfunkel, it's pretty bad when the only guy willing to offer help is a fellow console gamer. I remember asking a simple question about a year ago on the PC board regarding Bluetooth devices...I'm still waiting for a single reply!?!
Anyway, have you tried any mods? Go to Gamespot.com or just punch "Oblivion Mods" in Google and you should find a mod that changes the characteristics of the games AI.
OR, you can try loading up a previous save and trying the bet all over again.
I'll see what else I can find for ya!

don't have any other saves, unfortunately, the only mods i could find were to make the ai smarter, or harder, not to "settle" them down.
But i don't think i need them anymore, i found a half solution, i did a quest where you get a scroll that allows you to temporarily calm people, did it to the arena dud and managed to get his "bad luck, you lost" out of him, went to the arena and all is fine now! I also finished the arena fights and am now grand champion...
anyway, thanks for the help.
EDIT, i found your post made more then 1 year ago, i tried to post help but it has expired. here is what i was going to say:
Bluetooth has excellent range and no pointing-at-receiver-just-to-get-a-signal.
As this is one of the forums biggest bumps ever, there are much better kb/m combos out now, have a browse on Logitechs website, any BT set from them should be good!

+Rep, Dude that was classic. Yeah, so far I'm enjoying my Bluetooth KB/M combo. I still find the mouse gets a little jittery or even tends to loose accuracy from time to time. The combo works with my PS3 and 360 also. I need the dongle tho.
it's good that figured out how to get through that. Glitches in games like that really annoy me. Another thing in Oblivion that annoys me is the fact that everybody seems to you have stolen products. At least in Morrowind the only people who knew you were holding were the ones you stole from...duh.
peace
(EDIT: I need to "Spread the rep" around first)

You're not a vampire are you?
Also might want to check your renown or whatever its called. It has an effect on how people act around you.

i was a vampire, that was the first thing i thought it was, i spent about a day following the quest to get rid of the vampireism, the sun damage bullshit was pissing me off, while not a vampire it still happened, anyway, the problem is basically solved now, he still runs away from me but i don't need him anymore, i have gotten from him what i need.
